If you can only have three bikes, which ones would you have?
Rules:
>>Each has to be bought as new
>>Maximum price of $1500 / £1000 per bike
Provide a link to each and reason/purpose for each.
Nah.
>€1400 bike
>New
Not even YT can save me, I'd probably stop riding.
>tfw one bike and 3 bike shaped objects
>tfw filthy casual

Inspired Console - $1325
I already own it. Perfect street trials bike. Nothing else will do.
NS Eccentric Cromo - $1499
Versatile, practical. Good for longer rides, mountain biking.
Planet X - $1525
City/track bike. Fun to mess about, feels fast. Would probably prefer older steel but being limited to new bikes it's hardly a bad choice.
I already have three bikes but one is too expensive and I'm also would like to have some change.
My reasonable dream stable would be:
>One One 45650B AM hardtail for real mountain biking and fun. Maybe with a coil fork for careless winter riding.
>Surly Straggler or similar for commuting. I want my commuter to be able to handle abuse like doing stupid tricks and drops and riding trails.
I was about to choose some old nice steel road bike but rules told bikes have to be new SO instead of the nice Basso in picture I'd take
>Canyon Endurance 7.0 which is a sub 8 kg 105 groupset carbonfibre bike for 1399 €
How do people afford more than 2 bikes? I keep upgrading my road bike to a newer one whenever a new tech is out and can never afford more than a road and a 90s mtb

-Gotta go fast road bike and you'll only need a sora. You can get the elite one if you want to push the budget to the limit.

-commuter and all around bike. Won't be needing a mountain bike here where I live since all the "trails" here are just unpaved road or fire roads.
Actually these 2 are the only bikes that I would need.

wow, you must be a moron who also knows nothing about any of those disciplines
luckily you have some of the top 10 strava times in your shitty flyover state towns to make up for it
what could possibly be bad about my choices
>>896961
Not him but none of your bikes are meant to be ridden far, fast or for a long time, which at least to me is like the whole point of cycling. I guess a trials kind of person has other priorities
>>896972
>Can't ride an XC bike far or for a long time
>Can't ride a track bike fast
>Implying the point of cycling isn't to have fun
skrub pls go
>>896991
you got it
I never ride more than a century anyways, and to go properly fast I'd ride a motorcycle
and I've done 75+ mile rides on both a single speed and a mountain bike
too many cyclists who take it seriously and think they're pros
>>896991
look faggot,
your choice of bikes is perfectly fine, but if you'd like to take a look around at this board, most of us prefer bikes that are practical and fun to tool around with.
2 out of 3 of your bikes are single speed.
the other one is really a no frills MTB.
None of them take fenders.
All three of your bikes are practically toys.
Sure you can have all the fun you want with those things, but they are really a shitty example of what makes a bike great.
>>897009
>trials bike
>average 5mph
>spending 22 hours to go 110 miles

yeah, but my type of cycling is both fun and practical

Specialized Rockhopper Pro EVO 650b: Trails and goofing off. Technically this bike was a little more than $1500 when released, but is on sale in the shops around here now that the 2016 bikes are out.

i originally posted the image, that wasn't my reply although i do agree somewhat
>look around this board
hurr durr board culture
a fixed gear bike is plenty practical most of the time
the trials bike is for trials
'no frills'? in what way? long travel, efficient hardtail. i can't think of anywhere i couldn't take one or any distance i couldn't ride. it will accept fenders by the way although i generally wouldn't want/need them
oh, toys... because bikes are sooooo serious and adult
as if life isn't meaningless and fun is just for children
i think that they are the best possible examples of great bikes, it's bliss for me riding any one of them
and i wouldn't have near as much fun on a commuter or carbon race bike
>>897009
i've done a tad over 45 of mine, no clue how you accomplished that haha
>>897086
They used to be Centurion you know...

Bianchi Campione- $750
replace shimano 2400 downtube shifters with brifters (it actually has 2400, not 2300 like the website says), 23c tires, I might go to 25c
http://www.bianchiusa.com/bikes/road/all-road/campione/
Bianchi Strada- $750
this bike looks like a hybrid, but its really a flatbar road bike, 28c tires
http://www.bianchiusa.com/bikes/road/all-road/strada/
Fuji Feather- $550
I would use in fixed gear mode with rear brake removed and bullhorn handlebars added
