While laughing at the Biking plebeians, let talk about how great Private Jets are. My personal favorite are Cessna Citation Xs and sometimes even Boeing 757s.
>post your Private jets, laugh at Bike plebeians.
>>893034
Where did anyone imply otherwise? Are you implying people think planes are automobiles? The only /n/ thing that is questionable is busses.
Private jet. Here ya go.
>>893033
I'd personally want the BBJ version of the 737 MAX. It can land on pretty shitty runways but still has a large interior that you could arrange in a lot of different ways.
>>893273
> shitty
I meant short. Fucking phone keyboard.
>>893033
>NEET fsX fan fantasies, the thread
>>893058
How the fuck are buses questionable?
Also 420 blaze it HondaJet.

>Being this pleb.

Post pics of that replica Spit in the background pls
Poland delivers again.
Decisions, decisions....
>>894319
my personal favorite planes are the SR71 blackbird and the F22 raptor
LMAO at these plebs who actually go outside instead of fantasizing about stuff they read about in a magazine
2019 can't come soon enough

>Wanting to ever venture outside the borders of the bestest freest country in the whole wide world.
>>894577
Donald trump is assured to buy one of those, even if the cabin is so cramped his fat ass can't move around in it.
>>893858
Why restrict yourself to one tank.
>tfw rode on the company's private jet a month ago
What a pleasant experience that was.
>>895547
this nigga gets it
>>894577
And you still won't be able to fly them over land.
>>894018
Outside the boundaries of this thread. Here, have some jet F-9 Panther replica from Australia.
>>895674
Apparently a certain degree of pointy will negate much of the boom.
So, watch the skies.
>>895726
No, it won't. Those experiments have literally never been carried out with sufficient or repeated success and have never once been commercially applied.
>>895714
awwwwwww shit son
>>895739
If NASA went there then the US military has a vested interest in making it work.
Supersonic over land is not a new thing and doing it more politely probably happens.
hows it like being a business jet mechanic? going to school currently to be an AME, and wondering if this is a good field.
Might be the wrong place to ask, but what is the best way to go about getting your private pilots license and pursuing a career doing that?
>>895578
How did that come about?
>>895674
Why can't you fly supersonic over land in the US?
>>896194
federal law
federal law covers sonic boom overpressure limitations, not an outright ban on supersonic travel. So, the idea is if you can muffle the boom enough with these anteater noses, you might clear that bar. The military has the obvious interest of reducing their acoustic signature so funded some of the interest in the boom reducation studies along with NASA, the more recent of which is reconfiguring the nose of an F-5 that had a decent improvement. But the acoustic problem is not just the nose, the rear shock from the end of the aircraft is also an issue that requires a lot more thought. NASA felt a new build with the nose work at least built in and not retrofitted should clear the FAA rules though.
>>895674
Company claims their bird can fly boomless at up to mach 1.2.
>>896276
They don't have a single piece of proof.
>>896230
Yes and no. I can't cite a particular law, but AFAIK they have dedicated areas for supersonic flight. There's one near Edwards AFB, for example

Private pilots are not allowed to be paid for their services. Its a first step towards commercial pilot. Protip: "commercial pilot" means ONLY that you're allowed to be paid. It does NOT mean that you'll be captain of a 747 the next day.
>>895784
The whole business jet business is highly cyclic, you'll probably drown in work in the boom years and be out of a job when the economy goes downhill.
>>897475
aren't all parts of aviation like that? except military of coarse. or whats the most steady field? shipping? like fedex.
>>897471
>Private pilots are not allowed to be paid for their services.
WRONG
>>897475
You know nothing. Part 91 flying is always steady regardless of the economy. The rich always fly.
>>897563
>Wrong?
Not a pilot, so explain. Can a private pilot be paid to fly? Can a commercial pilot do anything a private can't, other than get paid?
>>897576
>Private pilots
>The private pilot certificate is the certificate held by the majority of active pilots. It allows command of any aircraft (subject to appropriate ratings) for any non-commercial purpose, and gives almost unlimited authority to fly under visual flight rules (VFR). Passengers may be carried and flight in furtherance of a business is permitted; however, a private pilot may not be compensated in any way for services as a pilot, although passengers can pay a pro rata share of flight expenses, such as fuel or rental costs. Private pilots may also operate charity flights, subject to certain restrictions, and may participate in similar activities, such as Angel Flight, Civil Air Patrol and many others.
>>897563
Prove it
>>897625
>Private pilots are not allowed to be paid for their services.
>private pilot may not be compensated in any way for services as a pilot
RIGHT?
Am I missing something here, and are these not equivalent statements? That's pretty much the way I thought it was. Friends can chip in for gas, but a private pilot is not allowed to make any money on the deal.
>>897563
Is there some subtle interpretation you would like to trot out for us?
>>897576
"Being paid" is the definition of "commercial." Dude can't explain otherwise, cause he's an idiot...but I look forward to seeing him try.
>>897563
Dude I have the FAR AIM sitting right next to me(Federal aviation regulations and aeronautical information manual) and it says you cant at section 61.113. You can only split the cost of operations and you cant pay less than anyone else.
>>894315
Holy shit, this is one of the sexiest plane designs I've ever seen. Who knew Poland can into airplanes?
>>896230
Maybe in peacetime but if shit hit the fan nobody is gonna care about speed limits.

This guy went to my school. Now flies for Air Canada.
If I could have any private aircraft for luxury travel it would be the FW-200, not a joke. This plane can land anywhere, no need for airports. It set a distance record right before WW2 by flying from Berlin to Tokyo. I would replace its 4 radial engine with 2 turboprops for more speed and range.
>>899740
Get a seat up front as they had a habit of "landing anywhere" rather like this.
As a design their structural integrity field was rather lacking.
>>899756
A now retired "private" jet.
I probably paid for the ground crews tea and biscuits.
>>899758
>>893033
nice jet bro
>>897576
Like everyone else has said private pilots cannot get directly paid but they can split the costs of flying evenly with any passengers they are carrying. Getting a commercial license does allow you to legally get paid for flying but you can't just go out and start flying people around for money. If you had a plane and wanted to charge people to fly on it then you also need an air taxi certificate. Without you basically have to get hired by a company to get paid to fly. All this is United States btw

All of this^

>>895714
Mate thats fuckin awesome. Whats the story behind that?
>>897576
That fucking picture haha. I flew DA40TDIs and those were basically 'easy mode'. You couldnt really fuck up if you flew one... though people still managed to strike the tail on a few.
>>905038
Australian guy designed & built it from scratch (had a real hard-on for the F-9 Panther, apparently). Engine is a surplus helicopter T-58 with the power section removed. Haven't been able to find specs on it, just a few youtube videos. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tvRs4tWOkss

Here he is
>>899716
It only has four seats bah. Doesn't need two engines.
>>905127
fuck, thats awesome. So its only single engine yeah? Reckon he's limited by the glide distance when flying over water?
If I win that $50m jackpot in new years I reckon I'll get one of those Cirrus SF50s... those small jet planes are fuckin sweet.
>>910427
Single-engine, just as the original Grumman F9F design was. The US Navy has long wavered between single-engine and twin-engine fighter designs.
Those SF50s are p. neat, but seem like they're going to kill a shitload of doctors
>>893033
>Citations are crap. Poor design, straight wings, shit tier avionics. They are overgrown 172s
>get a Falcon

Falcon 2000 SN 173 Ex-Bank of America bird IIRC.
Nice fucking winglets!

Random question: Any of you avio anon's know of a good place to find planeshare listings? Other than ebay and tradeaplane? Ty in advance

Adolf plz
>>902565
Or you could become a CFI, and say the flight the customer is paying for is "Instruction received" and log it as such.
Then you don't need a charter certificate ;)
>>921254
Yea, but that only kinda works. If it was brought up in any juristidction that you made $10,000 off of flight instruction in less than a year and none of your students ever passed the test for their private pilot liscense than that is probably grounds for the FAA to revoke your liscense, have you labeled as a con and be, and at worst have a lawsuit on your hands.
