I like White Album better than Blue album. It's my second fav behind pinkerton. I just thought it rocked man. Rivers' vocal has aged incredibly. Wanna get a high is a fantastic song, and drunk dori if you can get yourself out of that analytical mindset or not cringe at how jaunty it is it's a lot of fun. It was just a collection of fun, simple rock songs.

This for me. Nostalgia for Infinity is pretty great and it has some great songs on it, bit it doesn't quite capture what made Ceres & Calypso so magical.
I still really enjoyed it, though.

Painting With was a fucking headache and White Album sounds pretty fairly different from literally all of their past releases. I don't really know what you mean because they ditched the sludgy riffs from their alt-rock beginnings and are pretty fully power pop with this record. I think it actually represents a long overdue shift for the band after being dormant for nearly 20 years since Pinkerton with shit album after shit album. What did you not like about Weezer? Did you listen to it?
Golden Girl and On Delay were the only tracks I really enjoyed

Must be a fundamental difference in taste because those two are probably some of my least favorites, I can't stand golden gal. I think the thing about weezers recent output is that it's inevitably going to be overrated by fans when it's really just painfully average. These predictably stricter three and a half minute pop tracks just don't cut it anymore unless you're doing something really interesting and fresh with them (the way PW did, in my opinion). I liked EWBAITE more than white album, it felt like a truly shocking return to form for the band. Now they just seem like they're on autopilot.

That's the thing, I'm not even a Weezer fan really. I only liked select singles from Blue and I love pinkerton, but I do agree in part that EWBA was a solid return to form, not that that means much after being compared to shitshows like Maladroit or Hurley. I still maintain that White isn't much like any of their past records at all. I mean they go pretty much straight up sunshine pop at some points on White
