What are your guys thoughts on the "bad Weezer" era?

I think it's kind of overrated in terms of just how bad it is. I think at their worst they were just kind of boring and monotonous, but not offensively bad in that sense. If someone can show me what they consider the worst of Weezer I might change my mind.

Most of the singles from that era aren't terrible. Keep Fishin, Dope Nose, and Pork and Beans are okay. Perfect Situation and Island In the Sun are both genuinely great songs.
The Greatest Man Who Ever Lived is corny as fuck but it's fun.
Raditude and Hurley are both terrible and if you consider either one greater than a 2/10 please leave.

Raditude literally sounds like a joke but is serious. Listen to the song with Lil Wayne on it and the lead single If You're Wondering If I Want You To for all you really need. I wouldn't suggest listening to the whole thing.

Super polished and Poppy. There's a few songs that sound a bit more like your typical Weezer, but even then they're kinda boring and uninteresting. IMO there's a few standouts like I Want You Too, Trippin Down the Freeway, Let it all Hang Out and I Don't Want to Let You Go (Rivers' solo version is better though) but overall it's their worst album easily.

Red Album was terrible. "Heart Songs" and "Greatest Man that Ever Lived" were great, but "Everbody Get Dangerous," "Dreamin," and "I Thought I Knew were three of the worst songs I've ever listened to back to back.

I'd skip I'm Your Daddy and Love is the Answer even when I'm trying to appreciate the album.
And maybe end the playlist after Run Over by a Truck if I'm including the Deluxe edition.

If you put this in the context of only Weezer's albums the scores might seem low but in the context of all music I think I'm maybe even being a bit generous.
Before someone jumps down my throat for EWBA I think four of the songs on that album suck dick so I don't know what to tell you.
As far as Maldroit I think it's almost on par with White. Have you guys listened to Maladroit lately? It's really good compared to everything but White from the post-Pinkerton era.

I think White will replace Green as the go-to album when I feel like some Weezer but I've exhausted all their really good stuff

Definitely. And that goes for the other bad Weezer albums. There are one or two tracks on each album that are actually pretty damn good. It always made me irritated to hear these because it was obvious that they were still capable of making a great album, but for some reason chose to stay bad. I'm very happy that White exists.
