Sorry to hear that OP, I don't know much about your situation but I hope it gets better. Listen to some sadcore and take a random pick off this chart. If my opinion matters, I suggest Hearts of Pain by Idaho, The Going Away Present by Lowercase, Lowrcase by Bluetile Lounge, and The White Birch by Codeine. Not all might fit the mood but they're all very good.

Anyway, I've been in the same sort of situations and I always only listened to sad music during them. Joy division, have a nice life, Bauhaus, crywank, shit like that. But I've discovered you shouldn't do that, listen to stuff that makes you feel good, it actually helps a ton. I started listening to Tonetta, loveless, tame impala, Mac Demarco, fleet foxes, etc, and felt way better.

How do I not be cynical to the "happier" music? I love some happy music but I'm kind of a music snob sometimes, like I've never been too big on music that conveys emotion straightforwardly like Tame Impala or Mac Demarco, I'm a musician so I always focus on songwriting aspects. Obviously this is all just me but I feel like I'd get over-analytically picky if I listen to music that isn't something that pushes me, if that makes any sense?
