you just need to be know how to walk in a swamp, know what kind of swamp, marsh or bog it is, you need to know when to stay away from bodies of water (the water may seem shallow, but it's oftenly actually very deep beneath the bio-silt, specially in bogs), you need to know what kind of predators walk around, alligators being particularly bad, never go alone, do your homework in the particular swamp you're going to, etc etc, really, going to swamps are for people who really like their nature walks
