why do we say chuga when djent is literally named after the sound the guitars make?
>>
>>66488372
Guitars make tons of sounds you faggot

>>
Anyone like Pitiful Reign? Any otherband like them?
>>
>>66488535
How?
>>
>>66488372
because "djent" is not the sound of bouncy metalcore proge shite like periphery

djent was the sound of heavy palm muted power chords across 3 or 4 strings in low register, ironically this isn't being used much at all

meshuggah never described themselves as djent, that was you losers.
>>
This is what a djent sounds like
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FTB9XKWmEMI

This is what faggy nu-male-core sounds like
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MfOnq-zXXBw
>>
>>66488555
And that's because meshuggah isn't djent. We went over this last thread.
>>
>>66488585

beats me why misha "the maurian poo in loo jew" mansoor decided to name periphery and other bands after a sound that weren't even using.
>>
>>66488628
It's clearly being used in the song here though>>66488585

either that or you have no idea what sound you're talking about. They're the ones who called themselves djent, so their sound is djent.
Meshuggah's sound is not djent, because the did not call themselves djent.
>>
>>66488657
Check your hearing, you're definitely wrong
Understand the difference between called themselves djent aka bedroom proge, and sounding like djenty onamatopeaic guitar tones like old meshuggah.
Anyway by all means continue to be wrong because I don't care about you
>>
>>66488657
>black sabbath is not heavy metal because they did not call themselves heavy metal
>>
>>66488709
>>66488711
If Periphery coined the term djent, then their sound decides what djent is and sounds like. If Meshuggah doesn't sound like that, then Meshuggah isn't djent.

>>
>>66488774
It means Meshuggah is the father of djent, the originator of a sound that was further developed and progressed by others who coined a term for it.
>>
>>66488803
I'm not denying that Meshuggah had an influence on djent, as Periphery themselves say. But that doesn't make them djent. But there's djent as a guitar sound and djent as a genre.

Keep your faggy academic shit out of this, nerd

>"Since we were so-called inventors of this music, and coming from Birmingham and all the surrounding things that are going on, it's really great for Birmingham and it's really great for us all," BLACK SABBATH guitarist Tony Iommi who has been involved with the project tells the BBC in a new podcast which can be streamed below.

>He added, "I wasn't familiar with [the term 'heavy metal'] for quite a few years. I mean, I always looked at what we did as heavy rock. And when that term was first mentioned to me Somebody said, 'Oh, you play heavy metal.' And I said, 'What? What's that?' And this was a journalist from a well-known magazine. He said, 'Well, that's what you play it's heavy metal.' And I'd been in America for quite awhile, so when I came back and I heard this term, I'd never heard it. And, of course, ever since that, that's been non-stop. I still think we're heavy rock, but you are put into a bag, and I'm quite proud of it now."

>Various members of the band coined the term "Djent" in reference to a commonly-utilised technique of playing heavily muted, extended powerchords found within Meshuggah's music.

>Although inspired by bands such as Sweden's tech-metal pioneers Meshuggah – who coined the term "djent" a decade ago – and the British band Sikth, the genre and its distinctive sound has been driven forward by bedroom guitarists using virtual amp setups and computer recording programmes, then trading songs, riffs and tips on online forums – a kind of Second Life for guitar geeks.

Bullshit, and again we're getting into djent as a guitar sound/technique vs. as a genre. They're two distinct things.

Funny how originators/founders rarely acknowledge their part of something new.

Kinda like Dickie Peterson of Blue Cheer said even though people credited them being first heavy metal/stoner/punk band he said they were just power trio playing ultra blues I think it was the way he put it.
Similar thing with Budgie and how they were "just a rock band but damn good one" but are also credited being part of birth of heavy metal.

Of course this was at the time when the term heavy metal did not even exists.
>>
"heavy metal" is basically rock anyway

i don't think anyone legit thinks first wave BM is actual BM and not just speed/heavy metal worshiping the Lord of Flies.

Stoner Metal is a subgenre of Metal music that combines elements of Doom Metal with elements of Psychedelic Rock and Blues Rock to create a melodic yet heavy sound. Like Stoner Metal’s close relative genre Stoner Rock, riffs are often groovy and psychedelic, while the tempo of the music as a whole is generally slow to mid paced. The guitar tuning is kept low and, unlike Stoner Rock, there is an additional emphasis on a bass-heavy sound. This form of music was first pioneered in the early 1990s by such bands as Kyuss, Sleep, and Cathedral. Several of the genre’s earliest establishers shared a common characteristic in that both band members and fans alike were frequent marijuana users. This fixation on cannabis, which can also be found within the lyrics of many songs, when combined with the heavy and psychedelic sound of the music gave the genre its now defining nickname as “Stoner Metal”. Due to the similarities in styles, some Stoner Metal bands will borrow and incorporate certain aspects of Sludge Metal and vice versa, though that’s not to say the two genres are one in the same.

No that is bz https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/3-Quinuclidinyl_benzilate , its classifed as a wmd , a drug in gas form that causes violent homicidal paranoia so dropping it on a city would causes people to kill each other,. called Incapacitating agents
>>

the closet drug to it you can get is datura , and thats a drug so dangerous i would rather take meth, pcp and heroin together then that shit.

Datura? as in, the poisonous plant?
>>
>>66491050
>>66491050

>>66490984
You can easily end up murdering a person on datura because you see people like demons trying to kill you and you believe it. Its a delierant hallugenic and thats the most dangerous type.

there are three types psychedelics, dissociates and delirants

>>66491050
Lsd has as much in common with deliratns as valium has with meth and thats from personal experience, they are NOTHING alike
>>
>>66491050
Yes its a poosnious plant it contains shitload of scoplamine and other tropanes .

I can tell the diffrence between hallugenics types

I use a coke bottle for example

On Psyhckledics like lsd a coke bottle can change into a pepsi bottle

On dissocitove you are the coke bottle ,

On delireants the coke bottle never existed, the glass you poured the coke into never existed and you were outside in your garden jerking off while you thougt you were watching a movie
>>
>>66491076
>>66491109
but isn't Datura just a horribly poisonous plant? Can it give anyone any semblance of pleasure or a valuable experience? Is it used to be intentionally ingested?

also that delireant shit sounds pretty heavy and interesting, although from what i've read on, those are generally unpleasant hallucinations
>>
>>66491158
No its simialr to fever halluictnions but far more extreme and it can lost for 3 days straight

I would definitely call them one of the first Extreme Metal bands but what people generally called Black Metal in the 1980s was changed in the 1990s when magazines started writing exclusively about salted-fish eating church burners. That being said, Norwegian Black Metal is founded on the tradition of extreme metal started by bands like Venom, Sodom, Hellhammer, and Mercyful Fate.
>>
>>66491553
you just need to be know how to walk in a swamp, know what kind of swamp, marsh or bog it is, you need to know when to stay away from bodies of water (the water may seem shallow, but it's oftenly actually very deep beneath the bio-silt, specially in bogs), you need to know what kind of predators walk around, alligators being particularly bad, never go alone, do your homework in the particular swamp you're going to, etc etc, really, going to swamps are for people who really like their nature walks

Unfortunately there really are no swamps around here, which is a damn shame
