My record player is playing slightly too fast what do I do? I have a Jensen JTA-460.
run on it in the opposite direction at an appropriate speed

cum on it

OP here. Just tried another record, it seems only a few are doing this. Due to the fact that one of them is 180 grams I'm assuming it's a problem with the records and not the player.

Each record is different, there should be a knob to control the speed
>>66485432
put a weight in the middle of the record while playing.
Yeah they're all 33 rpm.

I've been putting objects in the middle and nothing is really working. Are their weights sold specifically for records?
>>66486245
There are, yeah.
>>66486257
Oh cool, thanks. I'll have to look into that.
Your calibration may be off. Its only a possibility though. Theres a potentiometer that controls and fine tunes record speed. If you have no means of changing pitch via knob then it could be the difference in record weight.
Just listen to it slower

Yeah, I'm thinking its the weight.
>>66486307
The potentiometer i speak of involves disassembling your record player.

Most good turntables come with a counterweight. Belt driven turntables are much better than automatic ones also. That's kind of a cheap one so probably isn't the best.

I have a lower-end Jensen, and it skips like a motherfucker on many brand-new records.
