I saw MC Ride at a grocery store in Sacramento yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything.
He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?”
I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying.
The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.
When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

Mike Watt (just a great guy)
Cevin Key (kinda' nervous but nice)
Mike Patton (was an utter cunt)
Joe Sumner (kind of intimidating)

Lead singer of Hed (p.e.) (based as hell, invited us on the bus to smoke bluntz)

Meredith Graves (not as bad as everyone makes her out to be, but she pisses me off frequently)
Dino Cazares (nice guy)
Dean Garcia (was really cool; answered a lot of questions.)

I once encountered Bjork going through a hotel before a concert show. She left me posing with her and take a picture, she's the most cute and sweet person I've ever met.

He has a machine do it. I worked at a hotel they stayed in for the King of Limbs tour and they had some assistants wheel some huge contraction into the building. Thom was staying in a suite on a high up floor, so they needed to use an elevator for it. The manager had me escort them onto a special staff elevator to transport bigger objects up the hotel. So, they wheel this big metal machine onto the elevator, and I push the bottom for the floor. I noticed the word 'Rachel' carved unto a plate attached to it and asks one of the guys what this thing is.
'Ehhh, Mr. Yorke been having some problem with the ole in-n-out, ya know? Home life ain't the best now.'
Somewhat terrified, I helped them wheel it out of the elevator shaft to the room. One of the guys tripped and the contraption ran into a wall and turned on. Loud whirring sounds and and Aphex Twin song started to fill the hallway. The machine shook and an arm shot out with what I can only describe as the most scary looking synthetic vagina I have ever seen.
One of the guys yells, 'Oi, fuck! It's loose! Get Thom on the telly!' The machines shaking around and the arm is smashing the walls. Soon one of the guys sets his phone on loudspeaker, and sure enough, I hear Thom bark something in a foreign language. The machine quiets down and retracts back to its original form. The assistants apologized and wheeled it into Thom's suite.
Later that night I heard the machine again along with the sound of a man wailing in agony. Thom Yorke and the Radioheads will not be staying in this hotel again, that's for sure.

I said hey to J Mascis once after a show in Portland. I was just watching the roadies put away equipment after the show and then J came on stage to grab his water bottle. I told him it was a great show and he said something like, cool glad you liked it man.

>tell him hey, nice drumming, the girl giggles
>he says thanks
>try to give him some small talk, but he's just quiet and it's obvious he just wants to talk to the girl to fug

Now every single concert he comes here, I do the exact same thing since he's kind of being a dick (and he's always tryna talk to the same girl coincidentally) and I'm just a fan tryna shoot the shit. Done it to him 4 times so far.

I had some banter on Twitter with the guitar player from Smash Mouth. They have a good sense of humor. I made a tweet that was kind of shitting on them and he replied with a lighthearted joke and we had some back and forth busting eachothers balls. Good sport, made me respect those guys a lot more.

Chatted with Karl from Museum Mouth at a Teen Suicide show once. He complimented my Diet Cig shirt and started telling me about how he knows them and cool they are.

Guitar player from the So So Glos chatted with me after a show once. Kept trying to get me to buy one of their tank tops they were wearing. I told him I was just gonna buy their album instead, but he was fucking set on me buying a tank top.

Devin Townsend. After a show there a line for autographs and greets, but it was long. But I still wanted to cheat so to speak and give a greating to him as I walked past him. I got really shy because I was a really big fan so I just gave like this akward smile trying to direct it towards him as I walked past, but I freaked and kind of turned my head a bit too much so it just looked like I was talking to someone else while walking.

I hardly even listened to bowie beforehand. I looked into more of his discography afterwards, though.

I used to live next to the So So Glos' parents house before I went to college, around the time blowout came out, I've had dinner with the band and my family, they're some really nice dudes. Saw them at the market hotel and they were great live

Ryan and alex are a little weird, but Zach (drummer) is a really cool dude. Talked to him about music at a christmas party once. Shame you're experience was a little off-putting.
>>
I met landphill from Municipal waste at the merch table after Iron Reagan opened for Black Dhalia Murder. I shoom his hand and told him how much I liked cannabis corpse. He was a really cool dude, he has an oddly nasal voice, sounds like he stereotypical stoner/hippie from some 70's movie.

Still cool though
>>
>>66450429
I wouldn't say it's off putting. He was incredibly friendly and welcoming. I just thought it was funny. I didn't think he was weird or anything I just assumed the tanks hadn't been selling too well and he just wanted to get rid of some. Let me also add that their set blew me away. Easily one of the best live sets I've ever seen.

I met The Chills and Belle and Sebastian on different occasions. Not a whole lot interesting happened. They were pleasant, and I was awkward, because I had major social anxiety at the time.

I worked at the campus radio station in college, and for our yearly concert we Booked How To Dress Well to perform. This wan't our first rodeo, as we had acts such as Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. and Real Estate perform in the past.

Tom seemed like an alright guy at first, but only got worse as the night went on. Once he got to campus, he asked us to get his drummer an ice cream cake (which wasn't in the rider) for his birthday (his drummer repeatedly told us that it was't his birthday, but Tom insisted). So, we get him his cake (which was like fucking $40 out of pocket, fucking Cold Stone Creamery), and he's slated to go on at 8, with a soundcheck at 3.

Soundcheck time. Not too bad, though he does take over an hour rewiring all of his shit because our sound guys "did it wrong", even though he watched them do it in the first place and didn't say anything. The drummer stands by idly, with his head in his hands, visibly embarrassed. Soundcheck sounds pretty great actually, so now everyone at the station is pumped.

Before the main artist, we have many student bands and groups perform with various other festivities like tie dyeing and shit. Usually, the artists will leave campus and come back in time to go on, but Tom decided to stay and walk around the grounds (It didn't really matter anyway, most people outside of the radio station wouldn't recognize him anyway, but still weird nonetheless).

Opening for HTDW at about 7:30 is a friend of mine, a really cool DJ that is well known around campus. Naturally, he puts on a great show, and gets the crowd really pumped. HTDW takes the stage, and the disaster begins. (1/2)

Tom staggers up there and immediately performs "Words I Don't Remember", and then goes on a 15 minute rant, shitting on my DJ friend, the campus, and members of the audience. During the rant, he got word that this girl lost a hula hoop (no idea how he heard, or why she had a hula hoop in the first place) and began to berate her in a condescending voice about it, and instructed everyone to look, stating that he would't play anything else until it was found. People told me the girl was in tears.

The Hoop was found, and now he plays two more songs. After that, he sits on the stage, shits on the campus some more, tells us the origin of the name HTDW, and then asks if anyone has any good recipes or stories to tell. At this point, some of the crowd is playing along, but those who actually came for the music are fucking pissed. He then proceeds to have everyone sing Happy Birthday with him to his drummer (who is absolutely mortified at this point), plays two more songs, and then leaves.

Overall, he was on the stage for 30 minutes (we paid for at least an hour), playing a total of five songs. On the way back into his dressing room, he realized he locked the keys inside, so we have to call University Police to open the door for us, and Tom and his drummer go and wander. In the garbage next to his room we found a bottle of gatorade that reeked of vodka, and half a Xanax on the floor.

So in a total "fuck this guy" stupor, we go and eat the whole fucking ice cream cake. University Police opens the door, they get their things and leave, and the drummer apologizes to us again on the way out.

I think you can guess what I think of Tom Krell.

(Also, he shit on Active Child when i talked to him about him)
