tried another song and the vocals were cringeworthy, the grooves weren't catchier than your run of the mill death metal breakdown and the vocals absolutely cringeworthy
production is very bland too
again, exactly what I expected, just entry-level trash that lives on its name alone
so to sum up, listening to killing joke for the first time I would have expected some very boring and formulaic industrial-infused rock music with a flair for redundant theatricality and edginess

notice how it builds up in intensity and how coleman's vocals drive it in, unlike godflesh which is suffocated in a dull monotony of sound with vocals which just make the situation worse

funny, that's exactly how I would describe Killing Joke's music.
Godflesh is certainly very monotonous and suffocating but at least it has a somewhat decent guitar sound.
Killing Joke only becomes intense when it reverts back to a traditional punk sound.
At any rate you'll get a more intense, unhinged and noisy experience from Antichrist Superstar.
Better riffs too.
