How is that album coming along?
I need some friends so that I can make it...
Tryna figure out how guys like Autechre and Aphex essentially program composers in DAWs cuz I wanna explore that shit.
>>66408445
Well I released my ep, but the album isn't going so well
>>66408474
MODS DELETE THIS FUCKING IMAGE
Pretty good. Got some hangups but its basically done.
I've pressed out 3 or so hours of material in the past 6 months and I've came away with a 45 minute, 3 suite venture into noise, plunderhponics, and dream pop. I try to be humble but I think there are some seriously cool sounds on there and I feel good about it
Have 6-8 new songs that I'm writing and figuring out now, this stuff is more tame, more based on musical ideas rather than production ideas, but once i have all of the music im gonna get precise with the music
>>66408445
Got the basic idea down for two of my songs. I need to hurry up and find a vocalist, however it is still early days
>write music
>record music
>mix music
>listen back to it
>hate it and want to kill self
I hope I'm not the only one who does this
>>66408445
finished and its out but i fucking hate it
need to get an external hdd
also need to get a working mind/body
I was writing tons of songs and had three albums in the form of demos, two of which were really good and I think people would enjoy if they existed, but then I got really depressed at the beginning of this year and stopped doing everything. A lot of what I thought of as crucial aspects of myself no longer apply to me. At the risk of sounding melodramatic, I just feel like a corpse but I'm not physically dead.
>TFW I have roughly 800 songs that are a work in progress
>MFW I've actually finished about 6 songs in my entire life
>>66408672
No that's everybody who's ever attempted to make music. I hope
Would this make a good cover for a noise tape?
>>66408902
I like it
>>66408902
the crossfade is too obvious imo
>>66408672
you are not alone
Have to buy a 9volt to continue tracking
Can't fucking find the right sound for my synth no matter what I do
Also school fucking ruined my rythym so it's taking like a billion takes
But I really like the songs though
>>66408445
It's taking form. Uploaded a preview track to my bc today. Kind of exciting.
Good gonna work on it tonight, thanks for asking. I'm in talks with a midsized record label at the moment.
>>66408724
your not alone familia, how are you doing now?
>>66409462
Oooo nice m8
>>66409462
The talk of record label or even partners makes me fucking nervous - I have friends who are part of a record label, albeit small, and the dedication seems really daunting to me. I'm not very well versed in the subject in general, but I'm terrified of ever being approached - not that it's going to happen though
>>66409455
My distortion pedal died on me one night when I was drunk and crying whilst recording music - had to walk down to Tesco in a onesie and buy a 9V at 1am; the cashier looked so fucking confused
>>66408902
too cliche. i would try something different/unusual if you want to get any attention. (especially for a noise tape)
>>66409582
I devote at least 5 hours to it ever night. You don't get what you want without hard work. You have all the time in the world to sit on your ass once the work is done, that's how I see it.
People will say it's not good to force yourself to work or practice when you're not creative but there are reasons why most popular artists have 100s of throws aways, it's good to keep working and playing around with your craft even if nothing substantial comes of it, if you don't use it you're gonna lose it.
It's taking forever
>>66409318
That cross fade is a stretched image of a sabertooth tiger, opacity about 30%
It's a logistical nightmare and I think about quitting regularly
Been writing something almost every day, my voice sucks though, gonna start experimenting with multiple vocals on a track
I've made several demos but I'm not sure I'd call them albums
>>66408445
Working on my third album at the moment. Had a partner for the second one but back to solo now. Such is life.
Punk EP has been finished for a while.
Brainstorming a lengthy experiment in post-vaporwave.
>>66408445
It's not
What does /mu/ use to record themselves
its a split, just waiting on the other guys tracks.
We worked on a actual track together to intermission the split, so once he has his solo pieces done we can release it..
coming along nicely and has been pretty fun desu, thnx for asking
Anyone else in here have their stuff on Bandcamp or SoundCloud? I wanna check some stuff out.

We speak a dialect of French spoken by less than 8000 people globally, and this is our first mini-album.
Really, the only salvageable tracks are the first and "Tire Toi d'une Falaise".

My first album. Noisy, guitar oriented Shoegaze stuff. It's pretty lo-fi because I made it on a shitty 4track cassette recorder:

this doesn't happen to me and I really don't understand it. I make things I want to hear so I can hear them and I enjoy it. it's the only time I don't want to kill myself.
>>66409698
this.
My friend built a home studio and I'm in there every other night trying to learn the tools.
Man, recording music is a lot harder creating music, fuck. It's gonna be worth it when the real deal happens
Used to make techno but completely changed my sound and now I'm into heavy metal
please save me
>>66412763
hmm
>>66412637
ok, but I don't want to shill myself, so I'll post the ep in clyps. People who visit BC threads might recognize it though

thumbnail looks bad which isn't good
Just released my first EP 3 days ago, the next album has 2 tracks recorded and 2.5 written, I'm thinking it's gonna be conceptual.
Not really coming along at all tbqh. I have a ton of these short clips/random recordings flooding my desktop.

"Always Falling" is my most popular song but they're all good.
i have no musical instrument or theory knowledge whatsoever, but my dbz themed experimental album is coming along. album art is done because i can actually do that part, one and a half songs of four are done.
