Nosferatu man is arbitrary, it's like picking your favourite of 5 children
But seriously don aman just isn't as good as the rest - it's barely post-rock, it's badly arranged, has a boring dynamic shift (that distortion at the end is just dull as fuck compared to the power of washers climax)
all the other songs were a collaborative effort most importantly with Brian and David involved, don aman was just britt walford coming up with a song at the last minute, literally it was new to the rest of the band when they played it in studio

All fantastic though. BTS/TO is overrated though, the final half, which is literally 17+ minutes in length falls flat, I really can't forgive something like that, the intro to the track is incredible but fails to deliver on anything beyond that. The Seer was a much better track, and so is The Glowing Man.

For dinner is the perfect distillation of a different type of post-rock that Slint were working on. It's the last song the group wrote before recording, whereas 4 of the other songs had been in the making since 1989. It captures the idea of song dynamics in a subtle way, it's got a shit ton of rises and falls without resorting to distortion and screaming, but just by patience and repetition. If slint made an album after spiderland it would sound much more like for dinner than any other song on that album.
