>I used to make these threads where I would ask people for musical genres; one would post “swing”, and the other would post “hardcore gabber techno” and I’d fuse the two and make a song of it in 30 minutes.

I'm still convinced Devy ended SYL because he realized that the band's sound was entirely carried by Hoglan's drumming.
>>66378369
SYL's sound is actually totally carried by the Wall Of Sound production

How the hell is Vektor considered hipster? Their sound isn't watered down at all and their riffs and songwriting are more ambitious and complex than most classic thrash bands.
>>66379184
on what way is Iron Cross not melodic?
because i'd be the first one to applaud some harsh power metal, but Demoniac is the closest thing we got
>>66379230
Because faggots hail them as the coolest band in metal
>>66379230
they got a lot of favorable reviews from people that could be described as hipsters/posers

>>66379240
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w-ddaFwPzh0
>>66379301
That doesn't mean it isn't melodic, it just means it's not as melodic as some things. And either way the majority of power metal focuses on melody. Even if there are some bands who who are less melodic, my point stands.
Does melodic death metal just mean screaming over Iron Maiden or Blind Guardian riffs? Because even techwank has traces of melody
Zeal & Ardor's next project: dissopower
>>66379411

That's just a summary of what's happened. That's not an argument, you're just describing the situation.
Was the wake of Deströyer 666 dissing its crowd at a gig and calling them pussies ever discussed?
Apparently, ''''''''Metalsucks'''''''' now ''''officiallly'''' considers them racists, I think it's a shitty site and I don't really care, but I also think Deströyer are a shitty band, so who's in the right?

Seriously, Wildfire is one of my top faves this year. And this behavior...what the fuck does everyone expect. I didn't start hating Phil because of the same bullshite. Just because I don't agree with a stupid musician and his stupid philosophies doesn't mean I can't enjoy the music.

Guys, i can't go past Cast Down The Heretic on this album.
The song is fucking massive, it's just great riff after another, the tone is impeccable, Karl's and Dallas' carry enormous weight, the drums are rhythmic as fuck and the narrative of the song is not only very fitting for the sound, but it's phrased amazingly by the vocalists, and it's written pretty fucking well too, it's mythologically accurate and very descriptive
