Not sure if this is what you're after, but I fucking love Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny and The Blues Brothers. Green Room was really good too.

i know it's a concert movie, but stop making sense is a fucking masterpiece
The ending was so fucking bad that I'll probably never rewatch it but half of it was above average, I'll give it that.
