Really good album, learned about it from one of these threads
>>66366691
props for putting The For Carnation on there!
i have a confession to make..
red house painters are one of my favourite bands but i've only listened to songs for a blue guitar like once.. and it cant say i cared for it once i was done listening to it.
this was years ago thoguh.
did i miss something? should I listen ot it again?

anyone else prefer the angular post hardcore styled slowcore over the folky/indie slowcore? I love the noise they usually incorporate. but everything in the genre is always great. it's so good.
>>66367077
It's his worst so not really, it's a pretty good album but you're not like missing anything groundbreaking by missing it
THEY SAY MY SONGS
ARE MUCH TOO SLOOOOWWWWWWWW

I really like song about leaving by carissa's wierd and geek the girl by lisa germano. Where should I go next? I tend to prefer female vocals that are buried in the mix.
>>66367252
Try Natalie Rose Lebrecht's Daymares and Nightdreams or Imagining Weather.
>>66367279
Cool, thanks!
>>66367386
it isn't necessarily slowcore but I think you'll like the latter
I relistened to Ocean Beach after a breakup and Shadows killed me
Any songs like it?
Love the more distorted stuff on White Birch by Codeine. Any more slowcore like this?
>>66368015
check out lowercase, they're a little more screamy but they're also noisy
Where's Benji?
>>66368015
If you can handle some harsher guitars and rougher production, check out Planning For Burial, it's a one-man project with similar gloomy vibes and some shoegaze thrown in. Codeine is a big influence.

I love Planning For Burial, some really good stuff

I was pleasantly surprised by The White Birch's "Star Is Just a Sun". I expected a Codeine worship band but it was very dreamy and quiet, nice stuff.
I'm always on the lookout for more ambient/atmospheric/quiet slowcore, I like it all but sometimes the really lethargic and subdued stuff just hits the spot.
>>66368167
This is a cool find, I'd never even heard of this project
>>66368167
Thanks for the rec

>angular post hardcore styled slowcore
I would put Spiderland under this description if I'm honest. Also lowercase and Mogwai on some songs.

I don't like how that chart looks, I'm gonna make a new one.
Post some albums to add, senpai.

FINALLY someone who agrees with me that Slint has slowcore elements. And I will check out Lowercase
>>66368245
lowercase are one of my favorites, they're great, I feel like you can put shellac in that realm too, for songs like this at least.

ALSO check out a minor forest, fucking great band, get really loud at time but they're also pretty

there's always chokebore and shipping news too

From Don, Aman then to Washer and For Dinner is over 20 minutes of some of the greatest slowcore on offer.
>>66368370
Some great stuff there, I know quite a lot of it as my obsession with Slint led me to try and find something similar. While we're on the topic, have some Unwound.
