Why do Japanese make so much better music than Chinese and Koreans? We Everything great from Japan like psychedelic rock and various genre while Korea have Kpop and thats it and China have nothing at all! I don't get it. What America think about Asian music?
Go home Toshi. This is an American board.
Dank meme though.

If japan makes better music, then why have they never innovated?
America and Europe are the main innovators

>Korea have Kpop and thats it and China have nothing at all!
I'm sure you spent loads of time researching the music from both these countries to come to this conclusion.

Europe has always been the main innovator in electronic. From Kraftwerk to The Prodigy

Fishmans were a dub band. Dub originated in Jamaica.
YMO ripped off Kraftwerk, from Germany
Les Rallizes Denudes ripped off Velvet Underground, from America

I don't agree with your premise but I love Japanese music so much
The crazy thing is that Tatsuro Yamashita's best shit can't be found on YouTube. He's got bangers on bangers on bangers and gets no recognition (as far as I can tell, maybe he's actually famous in Japan).
I've heard his live concerts but there's no footage on YouTube because of Jap copyright and what not. I would seriously pay like $50 for a live DVD, he's that good.

Yamashita was very big in 70s/80s
Older generation like him
His Christmas song is a standard and gets played everywhere.
It's like Last Christmas by The Wham

Yeah I love Christmas Eve so much, I've seen like every cover on YouTube.
I just think he's got so many classic albums and I can't find any info on them. I think City Pop is general is an amazing genre and it's got such a summery, refreshing sound.
For people who don't know, vaporwave is basically old Yamashita songs with some spacy effects on top of it. That's actually how I discovered him.

its because japanese chinese cartoons are proven to raise the iq of the viewer
Terauchi outclasses literally every other surf artist
Japan does music well, especially technically.

Posting some dude's vacation pics because copyright laws are a bitch
I don't know if this qualifies as surf but the whole Big Wave album by Yamashita is amazing and feels like the beach.
He's got a cover of The Beach Boys' "Please Let Me Wonder" that is truly ace IMO

My Bloody Valentine were influenced by Les Rallizes Dénudés were influenced by the Velvet Underground. It's called innovation. Ever heard of it?
