That is possible. There's certainly a big audience overlap between metal and noise.
Personally I was always leaning more towards noise and power electronics being attempts at "avantgarde art music" made by and for people too impatient and immature for actual avantgarde music.

Pharmakon is a legit borderline incompetent. Her records are extremely rudimentary and simplistic and even then she still needs a fucking producer in the studio to help her out(which is quite uncommon in noise, where most bands or artists usually do their own production, mixing, mastering etc.).
The only reason she's been as successful as she is is because her record label is marketing her towards an audience which generally has no clue about the genre that Pharmakon is a part of and therefore don't understand how trite and underdeveloped her records and her live act are.
