So i've been listening to some shoegaze lately, the classic stuff like mbv and little bits of slowdive and bowery electric, but mostly My Bloody Valentine
Anyone know any good stuff that I might like?

LSD and the Search for God created one of the best shoegaze songs of all time. Their other songs are worth checking out, but none come close to this one.

Unfortunately, most shoegaze artists HEAVILY derive their sound from MBV, resulting in thousands and thousands of carbon copies of the same old shit. In order to get shoegaze that isn't soulless and uninspired crap, you're going to have to dig on RYM A LOT. You can listen to all of the Loveless 2.0's on the various flowcharts that get posted around here, but once you get bored of that (and you will), head on over to RYM.

People shit on diiv super hard, their new album is amazing. His involvement with heroin shows so much on it. Get a lot of the same vibes as watching Heaven Knows What. I haven't listened to hoops but the track that guy posted sounded insanely like diiv it's only natural he would like diiv, which he did

"derivative of MBV" isn't necessarily true, but it is a fact that a ton of shoegaze bands sound really similar or generic. You have to really dig to find the really good stuff. The genre could definitely use some experimentation and variation.
