How do I write music like them?
>>
tune your t.v. to nickelodeon and there you go
you'll be a huge faggot in no time
>>
Use chords that sound like they're on all black keys when the're one white keys, repeatedly strumming them into an ambient, textural pool of sound, then introduce a more steady rhythm and insert lyrics that border on the whimsical and the grotesque.

You know what I mean, those chords where notes are played closely together but it still sounds kind of pretty. Like how kids try to play Chinese music by just playing black notes. Play those kind of chords, but they don't necessarily have to be on all black notes.

Yeah, just strum those pentatonic scales for a long time and you've got that sweet mid-2000's Animal Collective sound.

1. Be untalented
2. Write simplistic melodies that would have been cliched forty years ago
3. Sprinkle in some "experimental" shit to make your music seem Deep and Important
4. Hope a tastemaker like Pitchfork finds out about you and gives you a completely unwarranted amount of attention
