This would have been my second choice. Been revisiting it a lot lately.
It was Spiderland for a while, but this has steadily climbing in my mind. Seeing her play a lot of the material from it at a solo live show yesterday decided it.
>>66316947
Clearly he does
>>66316943
I feel like it's the perfect mix of gybe and asmz sounds.
Real question here: what does the expression honest to god mean? I'm not a native english speaker
>>66317105
would you lie to god?
im agnostic atheist though

Idiot.
>>66317468
Love this one.
>>66317419
I thought this would be garbage, becase pop music.
It was pretty decent though, I'd recommend it
> I really really really really really like you
>>66317440
>>66317495
This album is rated as it should be by common people, and underrated by people into music.
>>66317105
in america most people believe in a christian god. what album would you say was your favorite if god was asking you. god can tell if you're lying.
it's pretty pathetic that he feels like he has to use the expression because we're already anonymous but hey it's /mu/ people are pretentious fucks
music has become a chore for me ever since i discovered /mu/ and RYM. i wanted to discover music and find more stuff i liked so i started browsing. now i find myself listening to "new" stuff that i haven't heard yet more than i listen to my favorite albums. i have a constantly growing backlog and i think i'm starting to lose my enjoyment of music cause i'm always tempted to listen to some shit that's rec'd on here or some genre i haven't heard of
is it the same for you guys? oh yeah here's my favorite album right now
>>66317596
interesting i feel most people were let down by that project.. although personally i loved it
pic related for me

>>66317752
>>66318114
The key is basically explore a genre at a time. If you try to listen to everything /mu/ throws at you at once then you will be overwhelmed and it will just be a chore.
it changes pretty often, but god-damn this thing is a masterpiece
>>66318081
I agree
Let us kill first the bankers
>>66318112
>>66318125
Do you guys just want to fucking bang your heads against a fucking wall with all that stoner metal shit? Not gonna lie, I love SftD and Rated R, but Era Vulgaris is so much more original, innovative, experimental. There are no filler songs in the album, which is 1 of the only 2 QotSA albums that I can say that is the case. If you want to fucking jerk off to overdriven guitars listen to thrash metal, QotSA is something different
>>66318081
i don't necessarily agree, but i do think that era vulgaris is their best
>>66317752
Same. I do not think it is because of me discovering /mu/ though. I think it's my own curiosity that ruins things for me most of the time. Because of this, when I listen to an album that I can enjoy no matter what, anytime, it genuinely feels like heaven
>>66317752
>>66317118
thanks for the replies, then my answer would be
>>66318082
I've never really gotten the appeal of madchester. what is so special about it?
>>66318167
do you think an album has to be listened to front to back before it can be properly rated/catalogued? sometimes i just turn shit off cause i don't like the first 5 or so songs
>>66317752
Yep, I can relate, although I do find time to listen to my favorite albums.
>>66318322
no problem man here's another one for ya
>>66318327
if you've gotten 5 songs in and you're interested at all (sometimes i don't enjoy music on the first listen, but i can still recognize that i find it to be interesting) then i see no point in forcing yourself to listen to the rest
>>66316933

burpcore
>>66318237
Damn, I haven't thought about CoC in a very long time.
>>66318399
I'd love to hear what it's derivative of, it's one of my favorite albums as well.
this album. it's just perfect.
byte me
>>66318441
i guess derivative is the complete wrong word. it just feels extremely safe. i'm not denying it's good, but it's just another radiohead album to me, no teeth or edge.
>>66318482
I guess I could see your point. Nothing wrong with lack of innovation when you reach perfection though (imo)
>>66318482
implying radiohead ever had 'teeth' pfffffffffffffft
>>66318535
Idk it didn't feel like perfection to me, but I don't really feel like you can reach perfection. It's good to me and nothing more. Like a 7/10
>>66318323
>what is so special about it?
Not much, really. I never got caught up in that scene, I just really like the Roses. It's fairly derivative of 1960s guitar music and slightly earlier Manchester bands like the Smiths, but at the end of the day it's just really fucking good pop songs. It helps that everyone in the band was a top-class musician, especially the guitarist John Squire. The exception to this rule is Ian Brown. 20 years later and no one really knows if he can sing or not.
>>66318125
>Implying you would go outside to meet people
>>66318399
lol like that's even a valid criticism. EVERYTHING is derivative. I'm also p sure this was just a "post your favorite album" not "tell others why their favorite album is shit." thread
>>66318847

>>66318237
>posts their worst album
>>66317752
Hey that's my favorite album too, tied with a few things. I'd suggest saying "fuck it" to the backlog, listen to whatever you feel like listening to, and if that happens to be new music then so be it. Music shouldn't be a chore, and if you can't get into certain genres/albums that are considered respectable by /mu/, don't bother trying unless you really feel up to it.
For some reason people here treat listening to full albums like collecting coins or stamps or something. If you know you dislike something, turn it off and put on something else. Above all else try to remember that music is supposed to be fun, and that no one outside of this website cares if you have or haven't listened to any specific albums.
Was going to post TDAGARIM but >>66318065 beat me to the punch.

yes, i feel the same, i was thinking the same thing the other day, i cant explore and do an inmersive listening.. but that happens with internet, and not only with music, with films its the same to me.
excessive information, like i cant stop to consuming, like a fucking drug that leaves me with nothing to feel
I love how most of this shit board pretends everything that's entry-level is bad but this thread is full of entry-level.
I'm not knocking the thread either. "Entry-level" is good. Contrarian faggots are not.

Can't find any good music to listen to lately, I've been busy with a bunch of other stuff and just haven't thought to find anything. My favorite albums kinda rotate but Rose is the current one. Love the new sound on the old stuff
but I hate my friends is still their best album
>Brand New - tdagarim
>The Microphones - The Glow Pt. 2
>Belle and Sebastian - If You're Feeling Sinister
>Andrew Jackson Jihad - People that can eat people
>Tigers Jaw - Tigers Jaw
>Titus Andronicus - The Monitor
>Walk The Moon - Walk the Moon
>Everything Everything - Get to Heaven
>Look Mexico - This is Animal Music
That's basically in order of favorite to least out of all the albums I'd call my favorites. Any help on anything like these? I know it's a general question but people in threads like this usually help me find some pretty great music.
