What would you say is the greatest guitar solo ever?
>>66303182
help me im having a stroke
Maggot brain
Something
My favorites are probably the two solos in Paranoid Android but I wouldn't call them the greatest ever
>>66303280
but it was written and played by clapton??
Entombed - Left hand path
Adrian Belew in Born Under Punches by Talking Heads
Fripp in Baby's On Fire by Brian Eno
Whoever does the solo in I'm Set Free by TVU, I don't know if it's Lou or Sterling
those are my faves
idk, but I'll tell ya a love supreme is the best solo
>>66303297
You're thinking of While My Guitar Gently Weeps
Shine On You Crazy Diamond has some great stuff in it
Ukraine Nokturnal Mortum
Between The Buried and Me - Selkies: The Endless Obsession
Mr. Crowley probably.
>guitar solos
>great
>ever
Bohemian rhapsody is definitely up there for me

>born in le rite generation!! XXDD
SOMA
if it counts then I would say Maggot Brain
if not then the one in Baby's On Fire
King Crimson's Fracture is one elongated guitar solo but I think it's the finest there's ever been
if not that then Zappa's Hot Rats, he's blasting it for like 5 fucking minutes and always keeps it interesting, never repeats himself
and if not that, Fripp on Scary Monsters (the song)
Gilmour would be in my top 10 for sure though

I've got sick in my mouth.

>Adrian Belew in Born Under Punches by Talking Heads
He didn't actually do all those beep bops with his guitar, right?
I mean it was fucking 1980
Time
The very first solo in Shine on You Crazy Diamond.
It's simple but is so touching. One of most transcendental experiences I ever had with music.

Have you ever watch him live?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GTQrlDzqUCA
(It's not Born Under Punches, but has a similar solo)
>>66306591
I know Belew better than I know my own dick, especially with King Crimson, but despite the crazy solos he does, I just can't fathom how he'd do specifically the Born Under Punches solo. Some of it sounds like a heavily modified guitar, but at other times it's so nothing alike anything I can imagine a guitar producing that it's hard to believe.
Brad Delson from Linkin Park - A Line In the Sand

Zappa wins again.
Best guitar solo of the decade at least

I like these.
Another solo I really enjoy comes from Ritchie Blackmore from his time with Rainbow on a song called stargazer.
I'll also nominate anything from Angus Young.

Thone are also 2 of the 3 solos I know on guitar
war pigs
Pink Floyd-Time or Comfortably Numb
Pantera - Cemetary Gates
Van Halen - Eruption
Black Sabbath - War Pigs
