You mean solos fading out? Just thought about that Tears for Fears song. Great effect indeed.

I think Roxette did the same thing. They actually sound vaguely similar to Cocteau Twins.

I think that's kind of a stretch. I don't listen to much Roxette anyways. I think my dad turned off from them.
Now, I'm struggling to find music that is really, really influenced by CT.

This is the closest I've gotten to that Cocteau Twins feel in a song. And it's only the sound from the BBK-HOLV era.

Try these:
Faye Wong - Fuzao (It actually has songs written by the Cocteau Twins)
Lush - Spooky (Produced by Robin Guthrie, the sound overall is very similar too)
Beach House - Bloom

Ah, I'm actually huge into Beach House so I frequently think of them as their own thing. Though the early records are really influenced by CT, they eventually found themselves doing a different take on the softer brand of dream pop. The best comparison you can make is one of them with the final two albums of the Twins. I think they really never had the ambitions that our prĂ³ceres of dream pop had in the 80s.
Blue Bell Knoll and Treasure are god tier albums desu.

I'm downloading the first one. I could never get into Lush. I can give that various production aspects of that record have a similar sound, with the most obvious being the guitar.

Treasure is my favorite CT and actually top album overall for me.
