You know, there's more being shared and discussed here than just four entry level artists
Also, a lot of people come to these threads because they're just getting into it, and I feel it's important to encourage these people to learn more and foster their interest in the genre
Keeps the thread moving along nicely, keeps people interested
I don't see any harm in that
>>
>>66286913
And it's not even like I've been seeing any decent discussion on these handful of artists either?

What's so good about Whitehouse? "Uh, they're loud and the yelling is funny."
What's so good about Kazumoto Endo? "Uh, he's loud but not edgy."
What's so good about Vomir? "Uh, the walls."

you know what, fuck this general. both /noise/ and the complaints about it(some of which i admit have a grain of truth to them) have become so predictable and mindnumbingly repetitive, you can predict every single post in a given noise thread.

>someone makes /noise/
>cue a bunch of entry level albums and artists
>cue a "let's ignore shitposters this time" warning as it if needed to be said
>cue a "how do I get into noise?" question always answered by recommending the same "soft noise" albums, usually yellow swans or hole in the heart or aube
>cue some soundcloud or bandcamp links
>cue some shitposters showing up
>cue people managing to ignore them
>cue memes
>cue more entry level albums and artists
>cue more shitposters or people showing up just to say how shit these threads are
>cue them not being ignored this time around and people starting to bicker with them
>cue threads going into full on retardation where there is no longer even the smallest chance of them turning out decent

it's either this or threads die with 0-5 posts in them.

>>
>>66290666
the poseurcore thing had pretty much no effect on /noise/, this thread was already well on its way down by then
there was already a lot of infighting and complaining and shit by then
the truth is that /noise/ was never very good. it has spent like 85 or 90 percent of its lifespan being bad in one way or another(though it has definitely reached new depths of shittiness in 2016, which if you ask me began with that big bandcamp compilation)

as much as some people don't like to hear it, the only periods when /noise/ was alright was when it was quite insular and tightly knit, when there was like a dozen of the same people who kept posting in it and not much outside action or newfags around
however most, if not all of the people who were around during those decent periods have abandoned the general since then and now you're left with this shitshow

you could actually notice them leaving one by one, certain tripfags just stopped showing up, certain people you could recognize by their posting styles or the shit they talked about, certain sorts of OPs stopped being made

who?

>which is what makes them funnier.

It's called aesthetic and concept. Most noise albums in the early 90s (mostly from the american noise scene) had explicit images as artwork that made them quite unique. It's not like they were pushing that "wooOOww we are so dark and provocative" image. It's all about aesthetic.

Now, if someone made a digital shitty noise album with a naked, "raped" girl found on google images as artwork with shitty photoshop edit, now that'd be funnier and "wow so edgy". It's become a cliché.

how did it make them unique if most of them had the same style of artwork

>It's not like they were pushing that "wooOOww we are so dark and provocative" image. It's all about aesthetic.

and the aesthetic is one of contrived and juvenile "extremity", not much different from goregrind or brutal death metal or whatever other dreck of the sort

the effort noise fans put into intellectualizing or dignifying the moronic pseudo-extreme shit they're listening to reminds me of teenage metalheads writing diatribes about the genius of slipknot in the youtube video comment sections

Not all noise fans think the same way I guess. Despite noise being one of my favorite genres, I don't consider myself an avid fanboy. I listen to lots of other music. Also, I don't really give a shit about the explicit images as their artworks, if the "music" or noise is good, then that's fine with me.

Yes, I know what you're getting at, most of them can be obnoxious snobs pieces of shit that feel superior because they think noise is the all-end of everything. It's like Vomir, I dig some of his stuff, but the "nihilist" concept of the bag on his head it's fucking ridiculous.
