I enjoyed their later stuff, just curious if their early stuff is essential or not.
>>
No. Buy the blue comp and then download the albums from mega links later on

early beatles are underrated it's the highest quality pop from the early 60s that wasn't made by black people
>>
Anna is the only reason to own that album
>>
It is unless you're not a Beatles fan.
>>
The Beatles never put out a bad album and since this is their first album it's essential for one's collection.

I'll just let Larry tell you

Beatles For Sale?
>>
>>66273373
It's their worst, but it's not a bad album. Help! and A Hard Day's Night are the best from their early days.
>>
>>66272351
Yes
Personally the only Beatles I like is Please Please Me to Help. I can't stand their arty psychedelic crap, I'd much rather take the dumb pop music
>>
its got some great music on it, early stuff worth hearing is a hard day's night
>>
>>66272701
I think you meant to say "Ask Me Why"

you sound like an old man

I'm guessing you prefer Surfin USA to God Only Knows as well
>>
>>66273447
In my years of browsing /mu/ this is easily the lamest opinion I've encountered here wow
>>
>>66273447
I thought CLT killed himself.
>>
>>66272351
personally i like the early stuff but it is definitely not in the same league

if you want the best of their early stuff i would go for a hard day's night and help! (if that's considered early)
>>
>>66272351
The first seven Beatles albums don't matter, so no.
>>
It's solid, but nothing mindblowing. My fav early Beatles is A Hard Days' Night and Help though.
>>
>>66274120
>revolver
>rubber soul
>doesn't matter
Wew
>>
>>66274246
what makes revolver/rubber soul different from their last five albums. just listened cant tell.
>>
>>66274410
I'd say shit like Tomorrow Never Knows and Eleanor Rigby is the difference.
Geez did you actually pay attention to the albums at all when playing them?
>>
>>66273687
I think you meant to say boys

I actually agree with this anon. The later stuff like I Am the Walrus and Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds is still entertaining to listen to but it's just edgy hippy shit. The melodies and pop value are way better in the earlier stuff.

[spoiler] but Paul's solo work is better than it all [\spoiler]

My spoilers let me down :/

Also Norwegian Wood is overrated. Goodbye

what the fuck? i'd understand rubber soul but fucking revolver? sounds nothing like early beatles desu that's where all the praise comes from
>>
>>66273447
I don't agree with this but I do get it. Earlier and later Beatles practically might as well be different bands. Very different styles.

Those songs are outliers though

They have a handful of psychedelic songs, which are almost all within Revolver- Yellow Submarine era

I actually enjoy listening to Beatles for Sale, I think With The Beatles is the worst

That and Beatles 65 are two of my favorite albums. Their version of the old Carl Perkins classic Honey Don't alone is worth the price of admission. Great stuff!
>>
In my opinion the best Beatles albums would be The Beatles Featuring Tony Sheridan and Live At The Star Club Hamburg Germany 1962
