Not underrated. Worst of his discography, yet still generally praised. Definitely good tracks on it but lots of really shit ones too (when's the last time you listened to In the Lost and Found and were like 'damn, elliott that piano' ?).

You do realize he took a variation of a bach piece and played with a typical sort of honky tonk piano style to write that song, the skill and ingenuity that requires and still manages to pull it off flawlessly with incredible lyricism to boot cement that as one of the greatest moments of the album in my opinion.

Figure 8 is by far Elliott's worst, but I do agree that it's underrated. Even Elliott's worst is better than anyone could ever hope to achieve in a lifetime. The amount of unheard material from that era is incredible. There is still so much we don't know about that record and that's part of it's appeal.
