I figured. Some of his friends contested so that's why I asked but I think the general consensus is that he did do it to say fuck you to Shostakovich. Either way, he wasn't amused. I agree with the consensus because it is known that Bartok despised the Seventh Symphony.
What are some of /mu/'s favorite Bartok pieces? Out of Doors is mine.
