Just ordered this, it's my first drum machine. Hoping to get some nice minimal glitchy sounds out of it (there were some demos on youtube that had that feel).

Electribes are really cool and can do a surprising amount of stuff. I've never seen that particular model.

Some music I wrote from a sad part in my autistic novel where one of the qt characters dies trying to protect her children.

Almost wanted it to sound like Bvdub The Art of Dying Alone, I love how sickening sad and ethereal that song is, especially looking out at NYC lights and experiencing strong feelings of sonder.

I feel like the track doesn't take me anywhere in particular. You have a good aesthetic, but little emotional journey. consider adding a harmonic progression. the piano progression at the end could have done this, if the bass wasn't a drone on the tonic note.

yeah it's coming together mate, the second half is down, but the first half is a bit too busy and feels like you've copy pasted the percussion from the later part of the track.

i feel like i have the skeleton on a track here, but something is missing. I just don't know how to develop this idea any further.

mix advice needed too, probs wont hear anything on a laptop speaker

Yeah. I wrote some music for parts of the story, I am working on more.

This sound is sweet though, what did you use to make it? It sounds really eerie, I love those synths.
>>
>>66249098

Hmm.... what do you think of the original?

https://clyp.it/pftl5wyx

Same thing? It's missing the fadeout at the end but I am curious if you find it better.

Man I remember reading about your stuff like two years ago weird knowing that you still exist.

The synth sound is from a weird cheap programmable keyboard my friend has, we were messing around and created some really fucked sounding stuff.

Here's more of the noises we got out of it. Surprisingly good sounding for how terrible the hardware was.

Why are you selling that? It is amazing.

i like this original better (at least the first minute, it has a stronger hook than the other recording), but neither of the two really capture the feel of a lament

this is what i think of when i think lament, emotive and lyrical https://youtu.be/uGQq3HcOB0Y?t=47s

or even this: https://youtu.be/zqkD9PpH8W8?t=1m17s

What do you want out of it
What is your budget
Do you know about all the components you need to purchase (case, sometimes psu depending on case)

This is a decent intro

you'll need a case.
here is a nice sized powered one for a decent price
http://store.synthrotek.com/Skiff-Boat_p_508.html

As for modules, I was given the advice to build slow so you can learn what each module does. Maybe start with an oscillator, lfo and some patch cables.

once you learn the how the modules work with each other, you have a better idea of what additional modules you'll want. Once you get to this point, you'll want to check out modulargrid.net to continue planning your system. before you know it you will be trading in your multis in for stackables and scrutinizing every module for it's worth in hp.
