Check out their You Made me Realise and Glider EPs

this pretty much

you'll go through the shoegaze genre, each album more disappointing than the last, until you listen to Swirlies' Salons, at which point you will realize that there are two good shoegaze records, and these are them.
>>
>>66240325
i'm gonna go out on a limb and say listen to drudkh's first album. deafheaven are obviously the big blackgaze band but i think drudkh incorporate that influence in a more interesting and altogether complete way.

Pleb. There's tons of great shoegaze and music with shoegaze elements.

I'm convinced this guy is right. After I listened to Slowdive and MBV, each more album I stumble upon seems worse and more forgettable.

Listen to guilt by Ringo Deathstarr buddy, closest thing (or next best thing) to them dude seriously

It's definitely no Loveless, but if you're a sucker for Dream/Noise Pop with a tinge of shoegaze try Pulling Our Weight EP by the Radio Dept and Lesser Matters

You know.

I've been listening to a lot of My Bloody Valentine lately.
I guess break ups are kinda funny that way. A couple of Scottish or
Irish or whatever people strung on some guitars in the 90s, and the
music they created is so perfect for this moment. Their lyrics are
considered kind of a joke to some, but to me their ambiguity belies
real depth and meaning that is so often lacking in today's popular
songs.
Their signature sound is a blending of classical rock guitars into an
epherial drone. Lightly organized noise which subtly changes to
suddenly become something completely different. It is listening to
evolution in action.
I think, right now, more than the mysterious lyrics and sober tone, I
am identifying most with this evolution. Many forces in my life are
leading me towards change.

My (former) girlfriend.

My changing sexuality.

My work ethic fighting against my desire to smoke more weed.

All of these forces are pulling me in different directions in life.
All want different changes to occur within me. I am in a period of
great stress and trauma, and the traumatic noise of My Bloody
Valentine has provided a much needed catharsis. At this moment, I am
terrified by the idea of evolution, and M B V is helping me understand
that evolution can create beauty.

^^something i wrote recently. lmk what you think!

It would help if you could tell what other music from the period you dig or what exactly do you like about this album, but we'll try anyway

Obvious would be other My Bloody Valentine things though probably m b v is like an updated but weaker version, check Isn't Anything and EPs but the older the rawer, you may or may not like it. A good start with EPs would probably be Tremolo.

Really similar albums that I know of and are decent would be
Oeil - Urban Twilight - mostly sounds like poorman's Loveless but has its moments (Strawberry Cream is bliss)
Curve - Doppleganger - people like this I'm not a big fan
Lilys - In The Presence Of Nothing - in a way it's like stretched Loveless
Luminous Orange - Drop You Vivid Colors

But I guess if I were you first I would listen to Slouvaki and Nowhere, maybe couple of Lush albums and figure out what I like and what I don't about the genre. Then I'd go in direction I like, perhaps listen to other bands from the period and newer stuff. Alongside the road you may find yourself not remembering when was the last time you listened to Loveless even if you still love it.

My favourites that are shoegaze or have elements of it (and may or may not be similar to mbv) besides already mentioned if you're interested:

(nothing obscure I'm too basic to nerd out about some never discovered and long forgotten Resplandor EP and claim it a 10/10)

The Twilight Sad
Flying Saucer Attack
Black Tambourine
Yo La Tengo
Starflyer 59
Jessica Bailiff
Grouper

Sorry - I didn't read your sentence that carefully.
Tho I still believe you had either listened very little or be legit insane to claim that MBV and Slowdive are the only worthwhile shoegaze bands.

Man this album is something else
Profoundly beautiful, devastating, otherworldly, utterly haunting and world-destroyingly heavy all at once
>>
>>66240325
This album is overrated as fuck anyway, who cares.
>>
I don't even like Loveless at all but try this OP.
>>
One thing I heard recently that gave the warm, dusty, surreal impression of Loveless was the UK bonus track from Citrus (Asobi Seksu), All Through the Day. It climbed right into me headspace like shoegaze hasn't very much past Loveless.
