Probably because the clean guitars and minimal, loose instrumentation was inspirational to some of the "real" slowcore bands, and it has the same laid-back vibe.

Pretty terrible actually. On Fire is probably the most overrated album ever. If I wanted to listen to people sucking at their instruments I'd listen to the shaggs
