It really is. The innocence of Milk Eyed Mender and the epic of Ys put all into one 2 hour long record. I just love this record to pieces. Lovely poetry, automned vocals from joanne, and amazing instrumentation that she mainly had hand in. A truly all Joanna Newsom record. Amazing 10/10 decade winner

Every song has clicked and been my favorite at some point. It's so intimate yet the orchestration still winding and sprawling. Every piece fits seamlessly.
Van Dyke Parks gets a lot of pub but Ryan Francesconi is fucking incredible.

I loved it at the time, but when I went back even 2-3 years later I couldn't take it seriously anymore.
Way too drawn out, the lyrics too vague.
The track "Go Long" however rips my fucking guts out, among a few others, as I will always love Joanna... but overall I just can't do it anymore.
