Why does every shitty new genre of music have "Post" or "core" in it's name?

"Post-" usually implies that the genre was influenced heavily and grew from its root genre, however it has been fused with other genres/experimented with enough so that it is markedly different
"-core" usually implies a derivative of "hardcore", usually referring to hardcore punk but also can refer to hardcore techno, breakbeat hardcore and other hardcore sub-genres

Metalcore and post-rock have been around since the early 90s, post-industrial has been around since the early 80s, and electrocore isn't a real fucking genre.
