Then why isn't it EPDM? No music genre is dictated by how it's produced, but by how it sounds. You can make techno music with a jaw harp and a drum set, but nobody's going to say it's not techno music because it wasn't made with technology. If it sounds like it was made electronically, and it's good to dance to, it's EDM. Hip Hop doesn't sound electronic at all, and is not the best music to dance to.
