No. Writing and producing everything by themselves? No. Directing music videos? No. Drawing all their album covers? No. Doing all that and receiving universal acclaim? No.
Look at the credits of their albums. For instance Roisin Murphy was helped by Mark Brydon when she was in Moloko and by Eddie Stevens, a guy from Groove Armada, Mattehw Herbert, whatever, when she was solo. La Roux was a duo: the other guy (Ben Langmaid) did a lot of the songwriting/production stuff. Dragonette is a band: the dudes contribute a lot of songwriting/production. Based on having read/watched oodles of interviews with Claire about all sorts and sundry things... not even remotely.
The character of Grimes, however, is a different story. Can't find the specific quotes right now (might look for them later) but one of her major goals with the Grimes persona has been the fashioning of a distinctly asexual pop-star because a) such a thing is so rarely seen and b) she wants her creative output to appeal to as many people (regardless of gender) as possible.
