Okay, I finally listened to pic related and absolutely loved it.
I also really like TTNG and Minus the Bear but am looking to delve more into the genre.
What are your recs /mu/?
you'll generally want to look through the midwest and math/twinkle sections
like all of these fucking albums either have math rock or posts rock influence

>>66192560
oh for fuck's sake. I haven't been on /mu/ in three years and it's still the same threads with the same albums and underage posters making them over and over again.

>>66194049
ya boi.
Their first three albums are golden. It's such a shame what they have become
>>66194351
Hope for an Angel is probably one of my favourite songs by them. Scissorkick aswell, their b-sides are fucking unreal
>>66193377
dude, no one wants to look at your sub par picture
>>66193257

You ever given Sunny Day Real Estate a try?

Most of the super mathy stuff in the vein of American Football is kind of shitty. It's really not the kind of sound that needs repeating. Algernon Cadwallader is solid, though, and I think I remember Two Knights being good (maybe just because it's been a while).
>>66195028
This is not like American Football in the slightest. Best song on the album, however.

Saosin self-titled is great

i dunno if u'll be into them their instrumental only
I'm back
I had another one of these for emo on my laptop but I'm too lazy so here's a meme for math rock instead
>>66193223
uh sure
>>66193377
damn I like that album but dubs confirms it's subpar
the quintessential 'emo revival' record imo. modern baseball is a meme that you shouldn't fall for, also check out the front bottoms

I never understood the pop punk/tumblr-emo crowds fascination with Tigers Jaw
Yeah I like Tigers Jaw a lot but they're nothing like the other shit they listen to.
Also Front Bottoms isn't emo
You have the same taste as my ex idk if I should hate you or not
>>66198769
same taste in emo maybe. my teenage oneitis was tumblr trash if that clarifies things
What guitar gear is best for emo? I feel like a strat with a humbucker is good and just whatever amp?
>>66198769
you should hate them
>>66192560
this is the best math rock song of the decade

Most people with a mathy sound use telecasters, but it's not that important I guess. I have a telecaster knock-off it works fine
Try to find an amp with a clean sound and get your effects through pedals, I use vox
what kind of music is this?

These guys are good, thanks my man
>>66198881
Alright cool thanks,
What pedals do you use?
>>66199480
Not him, I use a DL4 for looping and delays but there are better options than that desu. I use a MXR Bass compressor to level out my tapping, I use a Fuzz Hugger Arc Flash for overdrive and a Big Muff for fuzz the few times I use it. Whammy 4 and Volume pedal as well but I rarely use those. I'm playing an Ibanez Saber into a JC-120. Had a telecaster, but I sold it because of bills, putting together a new one though. Just waiting on pickups.
Any good emo/math rock recs for a stoner?
Just loaded up another bowl and am listening to Shmap'n Shmazz, and it's alright. I've got Don Caballero 2 and EndSerenading on deck but I thought I'd ask if you all have any suggestions tailored for being high?
>>66201244
Jank. They literally have a song called Weed Is Tight
There's a lack of Bread Club and Jr. Adelberg in this thread.
