This album is fucking great, especially the closer. Just started listening to it.
But it still doesn't sound as good as their first, for some reason. Some really cheesy moments doesn't help.

I haven't listened to Emo that much but I like sunny day real estate and American football. Honestly I like both the math rock elements and the pop punk ones. Looking for more modern bands.

I think their first album sounds better and is more consistent.
The vocals are very different, they sound much more nasally on their second album but it's a nice change. On the first album the vocals are smoother.
The biggest thing though is their first album just sounds more raw and reminds me way more of being a kid. It's also got a really fun spring/summer vibe and sounds WAY less corny than their second.

if this is what you want out of emo, whenever if ever is the pinnacle. otherwise the best albums are algernon s/t, FYEB, and above all just got back from the discomfort
