WHEN THE LIGHTS GO DOWN IN THE CITY
Fuck. This. Band.
They're on par with post-Syd Barrett Pink Floyd.

Them and Styx both reached the end of the road with their 83 releases because they were totally tapped out of ideas and sounding outdated compared to the Police, Men Without Hats, and Huey Lewis & The News, all of which had a slicker, fresher approach to pop rock.
STREETLIGHTS

Escape (the album) is fun as hell. I haven't listened to much of their other stuff
Ross Valory is a great bassist too
Frontiers [Columbia, 1983]
For those who truly thought the jig was up this time, I'll remind you how much worse it can be--this top 10 album could be outselling Thriller or Flashdance or Pyromania. My suggestion is for Steve Perry to run as a moderate Republican from, say, Nebraska where his oratory would garner excellent press and then, having shed his video game interests, stealthily ram the tape tax through.
