What are some albums like Mount Eerie? Not necessarily sonically, but in the sense that they act as one piece and are almost mythological in their presentation. This album practically transcends music to become something more powerful, and I desperately want to find something on the same level.
So you're saying you want to find albums that transcend the medium like Mount Eerie does.
They don't exist! Mount Eerie is a treasure.

Came here to say this. The Seer is probably your best bet, OP.

Ravedeath 1972?
It's a very unique album. It shares a lot of sounds of different albums, but nothing is like itself.
I'm still surprised that it's such a dense album and it's only 40 minutes. Phil and company put a lot of sounds into 5 tracks (more like 8 songs).

The Seer is already maybe my #2 album of all time. There must be a connection between liking this album and liking late-period Swans.

I'll definitely check it out. Been meaning to get into Tim Hecker for a while.

mount eerie has to be listened to whilst reading the lyrics.
Nico-Desertshore
but ya like >>66170961 said Phil makes some pretty unique stuff

As basically one piece? Pic related.
The Seer has something like this, but it's a hard album to get through.
Also DEFINITELY look into Eskimo by The Residents.

>they're named after a song in Song Islands
Neat.

I second this album, one of my favorites

I'm into it, I really appreciate what it's going for but it hasn't quite clicked for me yet. I'm sure it'll grow on me after some more listens.

I love you guys.
I have heard this thing so many times that I practically don't want to listen to it anymore, but every time I think about it I end up putting it on. On some level it's like a The Microphones-lite, but it connects with me at this level I can't really easily describe, just kinda feel. It's this mix of nostalgia, child-like wonder and I guess kinda cosmic/large scale curiosity that's hard to put into words.

I hope it does, it's a short album, and it has some of my favorite lyrical bits. The singer was a huge microphones fan and it shows in a very, very good way.
