He was either directly or indirectly murdered by Jennifer. Directly would be her stabbing him two times in the chest. Indirectly would be her being so emotionally abusive to him that he took his own life. Either was she robbed us of an amazing musician.

They just went for the easy answer of suicide since Elliott had a history of depression and other attempts. Pretty fucking ridiculous though, their lazy police work let a murderer get away and left a lot of unanswered questions. Read his autopsy report if you ever get the chance (which will anger you even more since it points to murder).
