>>66132654
Hey! I saw them in Baltimore on Thursday night last week! They were fucking amazing. I loved Goodness, but it was a pretty big departure from Home, Like Noplace is there. They played almost every single song from Home thought besides Housebroken (they hate that song) and I think like 7 songs off the new album. Awesome set, and awesome band.
>>66132716
b-but housebroken is like my favorite song from that album.
>>66132743
:(
Sorry, they did an AMA on LeReddit a few months ago and said that the lyrics were misinterpreted by too many people and they felt the song just didn't flow with the rest of Home. I kind of agree with them, though I love the song too and think the entire Home album was a 9/10 album. I don't think they will ever play it live again.
>>66132812
i mean, i kinda figured the lyrics were a metaphor for a relationship about dependency issues or something, not about a dog. Although the live videos i've seen of the song, the singer literally said, :"this song is about a dog". Maybe it's really about a dog.
>>66132865
Yea, people thought it was about domestic violence, The Hotelier were like "No...it's not about that" but then just stopped playing it live after their first tour was done so they wouldn't be asked about it anymore.

I don't know if I'm alone in this but I can't rate a single song 10/10 on its own. Unless I can have an experience that I'd be willing to describe as religious to something music related, there's no way I can really give it a 10/10. Great moments aren't easily earned. I mean sure Sledgehammer is catchy as all hell, but when you listen to the rest of the album you can clearly hear that Peter Gabriel just got lucky, and for me it kind of ruins the song. Am I alone in this? Don't get me wrong I like plenty of random songs, but they're easily forgotten. It was 6 years ago that I first heard Last Thoughts on Woody Guthrie and I'm still terrified of going back to it.

I have to be honest- I didn't fully appreciate the album until I saw them play it live and got to this part. The room that had just been bursting with the sound of their instruments was dark and silent aside from that eerie drone. It was almost like the band was trying to decide if it was even worth it to start back up again
Of course, the heights that the album reaches after that make that low point even more amazing. I love that album and I don't care what anyone says. That 2 min section is one of the most genius moments by Godspeed.
