Lift To Experience is here to save shugazi, /mu/.
The Texas Jurusalem Crossroads is being remixed for release this fall with a tour most likely to follow.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DhKDw7-8nPo
Also, I believe they will make more music. Most likely completing their proposed trilogy with the second album being a 2 parter. It is called The Post-Apocalpse Blues.

whats some good post rock like tokyo shoegazer?
>>66124287
how are they post rock
when i think of a post rock/shoegaze kind of hybrid, the first thing that usually comes up is lift to experience
>>66122393
I really like Nothing Is actually, not trying to be contrarian. Changes are subtle and it's easy to get lost in it.
>>66123093
Cool album. Need to give it a relisten though.

I'd love to hear other people's takes on that track though, positive or negative.

This >>66124471 is kinda post rocky i think.
>>66116224
>I swear to god I've listened to so much vocaloid at this point that I'm almost considering listening to Swans.
what the fuck
Is there a better shoegaze live act?
Probably not.
>>66116224
What's that one shoegaze with a vocaloid? Also what's the one shoegaze with a ; in the middle of the name?
do you guys think they'll come out with anything new?
>>66124754
idk, but here's a v/a compilation of vocaloid shoegaze songs.

this ep is just too good
http://forsakenautumn.bandcamp.com/album/whenere-2
Been trawling through asian shoegaze for ages now and this album really stood out head and shoulders above everything else
what's the harshest album you could recommend? recently I've listened to VDC from Sweet trip, and I felt like I would love something similar, but harsher.
>>66126995
Harsh in an electronic sense?
You won't find anything out there like VDC sadly :(
Depreciation Guild came close though

>>66126995
Harsh?
Try pic related or Astrobrite's Whitenoise Superstar.
>>66127243
Depreciation Guild is fantastic, I wouldn't call them harsh by any measure though. They're very melancholy though.

Also check out Broadcast. Album in >>66137430 is basically Broadcast's fifth album.
Red House Painter's last album (aka the first solo Mark album) is actually pretty shoegaze like, or at least soft noise rock

His music feel like sleepiness and grogginess brought on by smoking a ton of weed.
>>66141775
Yeah man, it's like some kind of midway between noisy punk and funk. Really playful and wistful melodies too.
What's your favorite track on it?
>>66145996
50 minutes isn't really that long for an album though.
>>66137430
That's his wife right?

>>66147579
I don't think Kevin's married.
Melody is just a fan.
>>66147678
Damn, really? I swear I heard somewhere they're married.
is there a chart for shoegaze essentials?
>>66148751
Seconding
I'm just starting to get into the genre
>>66148751
>>66148895
I don't have it but here's a flowchart instead
>>66148751
>>66148895
You might want to try not starting with Loveless. A lot of people consider that to be the best shoegaze album, and think listening to that first would like spoil the rest of the genre.
I don't really agree with it, but just to put that out there.
>>66149025
thanks, i really apreciate it
>>66149103
No problem, what stuff did you hear so far, if any?
>>66149389
i'm not that new to the genre, like i've listened to some of the essentials (loveless being my favorite) and i really dig sweet trip, like they are my favorite band rn.
i was trying to get somerecs tho, i didn't know what to listen next
Guys holy shit this is amazing
>>66149492
you might wanna check >>66124471 out then
>>66148751
Not on the chart, but listen to Lift To Experience.
>>66149791
woah i just noticed it's not on the chart what the fuck?
that shit is essential
>>66149484
Try this. It has that kind of really clean sound Sweet Trip has and it experiments more than most gaze bands, but I don't think the melodies are as strong as Sweet Trip's. ASDIG are still really really good. Other than that I don't think they sound much like Sweet Trip. I'd consider them to be essential as far as modern shoegaze goes. I don't think there's a shoegaze band out right now that's as interesting as they are.
Same nights, same problems
thanks for the links, lads
>>66150535
thank you, really. i'm gonna put this on my list
i finished listening to candy claws, it was so fucking good
>>66150677
You should know that Candy Claws has a new album out from this year too, under a new name, Sound of Ceres. They stopped making music in an attempt to capture dinosaur-times nostalgia, and decided to make future nostalgia instead, so they changed their name. They still pretty much sound the same though. The album's called Nostalgia for Infinity.

In Ribbons influenced most of the more dream poppy bands. I think they are more well known than most think.
Kurt Feldman of the d guild cited them as a main influence.
