I don't think that's a weird obsession at all. I have it, too. I think it's just some of the most beautiful art ever made. Groundbreaking, and incredible pleasing to the ear. Not to mention, it sounds so different than music we hear today that it sounds fresh again. Makes perfect sense to me.

There's a lot of Louis Armstrong in the David Niven collection.
Unironically bad southern rap with the repulsive pen and pixel album covers. There's something beautiful about how disgusting it is.
