Only correct answer
>>66098909
I appreciate a lot of music but Alice in chains has always rubbed me the wrong way, I think it's because I'm not white.
Does anyone want to convince me into listening to them ?
Dirt sounds awful to me, I just can't get over the dadrock vibes they give off.
Only thing worse I can think of is shit like megadeth and black sabbath holy fuck how does anyone listen to that shit unironically ?
I'm probably just biased, I don't really care for Metallica either but they don't assault my senses like slayer, pantera, or anthrax.
Funnily enough I fucking love Carcass, heartwork/swansong are both 9/10 albums and no one can tell me otherwise.

I can see why people would like the later stuff, but I listen to something like Yokan and then listen to something like Agitated Screams of Maggots and wonder what happened
>>66106120
My top 3 are Vulgar, Macabre and Kisou.
Withering was a bit heavier but still had some great tracks. Marrow is where I fell off the ride, and I haven't heard anything newer convincing me to get back on.
>>66090932
>talking heads
>death grips
>>66106821
I'm with that, Vulgar was definitely top notch. Probably the best mix of their earlier melodic stuff and the heaviness of where they were going
And yeah Marrow was a misstep. Except for Namamekashiki Ansoku, that shit was fucking beautiful
>>66106752
I think Yokan was in-large more of a Yoshiki song more than a Dir en grey song. If you look at the song credits, the songs that are produced by Yoshiki are all of the tight and cohesive pop songs like Cage and Yokan while the Dir en grey produced songs are all the experimental and long-form songs like Zan and Blossoming Beelzebub.
I think if you like Dir en grey exclusively for their poppy element, you're going to have a bad time. If you like them exclusively for their prog or metal element, you're also going to have a bad time.
