What's your favorite quintet album?
Bumping with another amazing quintet album.
Quintets the perfect size for jazz, objectively.

Pretty much. I'm realizing now that most of my favorite jazz albums are quintets.

You should really check out Dave Holland. Great contemporary take on jazz.

Here's another great album with his quintet.
is it possible to find a better lineup? (although it might not have worked out as well...)

I enjoyed a few tracks of off Conference of the Birds, but i remember checking out Prism when it came out and not enjoying it at all. He's been a sideman (sided?) on some of my favorite albums ever, i should give him some another chance.
Sax, trumpet, piano, bass, drums. Bam, perfect band.

Lee Konitz, Warne Marsh, Bill Evans, Jimmy Garrison, Paul Motian
My favourite jazz guitarist so far is Joe Pass, pat martino, wes Montgomery and Julian Lage.
Anymore recommendations?

I like that album, but listening to 20 minutes tunes can be a bit much ya know.

Quintets are nice, but smaller groups get better chemistry. Piano trios are pretty obvious examples. Using Trane as an example is kinda cheating, but his quartet was so in sync and I don't think the expanded versions of his group had that level of togetherness.

Hi, I'm trying to find a jazz song from I guess 20s-40s.
Can you link me some popular and good ones?
IIRC the song I really would like to find has some weird non english in it, possibly gibberish. Fairly calm.
Afraid I don't have a lot more to go on.
Maybe up to the 50s works.
