Hey mu, should I buy a euphonium? And should I go for a cheap one or are those not good and I should go full price?

it made me want to kill myself

Play trombone instead. Euphonium is the disowned autistic child of Western instruments. Even saxophones have jazz. Euphonium just has mediocre-to-good concert band music and less solo music than the viola

But the euphonium has the best sound in the brass family, and this isnt for school band. For my own project

Why? Did u suck?

In that case, just get a cheap one. You can get a decent tone without much experience and shitty high school owned euphs, for reference.
Personally, french horns and trombones sound better but you're entitled to your opinion.

No he blew. You don't suck to play a brass instrument.

There's not really such thing as a "cheap" euphonium.
Although, my brother got a "cheap" ~$1,000 one, and he seems to like its performance. Whole lot cheaper than buying a Yamaha or something.
I played Euphonium when I was still in high school. I was p good, for a kid who barely practiced outside of one lesson a week with a private teacher (I was in governor's school and had jack shit for time). From what I was told by my instructor, I think the Euphonium is more of a solo instrument in Britain, but in America it's basically what middle school band teachers give to kids when they run out of Trombones.

>buying an euphonium because you saw Hibike Euphonium
Don't try to deny it.

if you're just using it for your own project/ for fun you can get away with a non compensating student model (4 valves on top, Yamaha YEP-321). I play a Compensating (3valve on top, 1 on side) Yamaha YEP-642. Compensating have can play lower notes more in tune.
