Perlence Subrange 6-36 is God tier for falling asleep. Actually that's what I'm going to do right now.
quaristice finally clicked with me the other day. imo its aged pretty well - hard to believe it's almost 10.
i need to spend more time with all the versions now, i suppose.
Squrepusher is a much better composer than Autehcre, IDM faggots will never admit it but even sean and robknow it. Listen to damogen furies, such exqisite bass and drumsand beats, elseq is a shitty attempt at music, like putting max software through a randomizer. Most IDm nerds cant even tell the time signatures of their fav autechre songs, damn idiot. Squarepusher would destroy both of them in a live battle head to head no laptops allowed.

I always thought that Perlence Subrange 6-36 sounds like slowly falling into a deep abyss. pic related

square pusher only makes drum fast
>>66046129
quaristice still hasn't clicked with me at all. any tips for appreciating it?
>>66046503
Squarpusher atleast makes his drums, autechre just steals them off other talented musiciand and use them without crediiting them, Sqaureousher is amazing and Autechre are a bunch of shittheads who cant write a piece to save there lives
>>66046619
square page makes it fast drums
>>66046507
I dunno, treat it as one piece with 20 different "movements" as opposed to a collection of 20 tracks, maybe? It's actually a pretty straightforward album in terms of composition, so it's less about "getting it" and more about being in the right headspace.
I also like Sean's comments about it being an oneiric album. Like those dreams of long hallways where each door leads to a separate universe or w/e
>>66046507
i consider it just a bunch of jams. theyre just having fun with loosely connected tunes and ideas and each one is quite different from the others
probably my current fav by them
>>66046657
>>66046725
alright thanks dudes I'll give it another shot
>>66046821
also, with a lot of mid-later era autechre, texture and timbre play a huge role, so try listening with that in mind
>>66046857
lol thanks, but I'm already a pretty seasoned ae fan, I've listened to all their LPs, EPs and remixes, I just still don't like just about anything from their quaristice era
>>66046918
I can't conceive of this
>>66046918
thats weird you dont like quaristice considering youve probably listened to way more ae than me
Listening to tri rep again, not their best imo but I can see why critics like it. C/Pach strong.
elseq is getting mad slept on apart from on /mu/
>>66047934
C/Pach is ace but it's all about Rotar imo
>>66049206
no one wants to dedicate 4 hours to a band that has stopped making the classic idm sound for 20 years
>>66051823
yeah I know but the indifference has still been a lil startling to me
>>66047934
>that cowbell processed into a melody line
yeeee
>>66050688
tb.h everything from Rotar to C/Pach is pretty great. Clipper is also hot.
