hey Idk what the fuck is going on with your dubs rn, but it doesn't matter if my pic is releveant, my point is that one should make their cover art a visual representation of the way their music sounds because it helps the listener see what they're hearing. there's literally a million albums that have cover art that doesn't have do a good job of capturing the sound of the music or seem to have anything to do with the music and doesn't represent it in any way.
>>66006678
haha nice dude
>>66006522
>pic is unrelated to thread topic
why the fuck do people do this?
But in all seriousness, it's because most bands still don't understand that music needs to have a visual dynamic in order to sell physical copies and merchandise now, so they just stick in some random shit once they're done recording so people will think they're quirky.

Very few if any albums have covers that don't fit it. Just because it's shit or doesn't play by the stereotypes of its genre doesn't make it non-fitting. Especially considering connecting abstract sounds to concrete pictures has no real right or wrong. You always associate the cover with the music by default because the two are presented to you together in a package.

>giving me shit for not not adding some random album cover to my thread topic
that would likely derail the thread into a discussion about the album and not the topic. I don't need to present an example about a very clear and common issue.

Yeah and I'll take hundreds of photos and photoshop them to make it vaporwave, I would also kill myself 11 months later

quad dubs, pretty impressive my dude

completely false. It looks like the cover of a catchy pop album. One of the reasons it got so popular is because people who wouldn't normally listen to metal were mislead by the cover.

It literally sounds like the cover. The dreamy atmosphere, major chords and iplifting melodies, the intense screaming, etc. Its like staring at the sun: an intense yet beautiful experience. At least thats what I think the bun tries to convey.
>>66008676
>It looks like the cover of a catchy pop album
You do not listen to much catchy pop.
At best it looks like a trendy shoegaze album, which it halfway is.

Sometimes the contrast of the album art versus the music creates an effect all on its own (see Sunbather and a few other metal genre bands with gorgeous covers). Truthfully, I'm glad you couldn't have your way, because if all albums had some low-hanging-fruit, on-the-nose, "hey, guys this is a [insert genre] album! Just in case it wasn't clear!" album cover photography, then album covers would become monotonous and boring pretty quickly.

>not asking someone for making the album cover for you (without album name on cover and on the case of first album, the song name), and then after receiving the album cover think "how the album songs, song names and album name would be if I had an album that had this cover"
>>66011642
Your idea is stupid, since you arent the one that will make the cover, you could as some example make a drone doom metal album, and some artist creating a cover with flowers and little dogs on the front cover.
That said, it would be impossible to do the backward thing, since as some example you would never guess a cover with flowers and little dogs would be an hypothetical drone doom metal cover
It's really hard for an album cover to not fit the music for me. The album cover communicates the aesthetics the artist wishes to put across with it. Would Loveless really sound the same to you if it had this cover? It would color my expectations and I would have a different reaction to it.
I find the only times I disagree with an album's artwork are when I hear the album before seeing the artwork.

Accurate post and funny cover.
This is such a weird concept. It's impossible for me to picture the albums I like with a different cover. I'm a pretty visual thinker, I guess, so maybe that's it. But tf. It comes with the music
