This is their Pet Sounds. Why do so many plebs shit on this?

the same reason plebs shit on Tago Mago
>>
>>66005421
That's not MPP.
>>
>>66005421
This is more their Love You.
>>
>>66005421
More like their "Keepin' the Summer Alive" (1980)
>>
>>66005421
this is more their "did too many drugs and reverted to a childlike state of dependence on the fanbase they attracted with MPP but scared away with ChZ, and are trying to desperately win them back" album
>>
>>66005520
This actually.

>Comparing Tago Mago to HCTI
Why
>>
>>66005580
>lack of song structure
>lo-fi psych sound
>anxious atmosphere
>long-winded sound collage passages
>tribal influence
How is it not, anon?
>>
>>66005377
HCTI is genuinely their best, right next to Campfire Songs for me.

People shit on it because it's one of their more inaccessible albums
>>
>>66005421
>>66005520
It's neither of these things
>>
>>66005377
Because Tago Mago is crap compared to Future Days.
>>
>>66005377

Is this band technically a 1-hit-wonder?
>>
>>66005936
^ this anon understands that PW is a concept album and was made completely different from MPP and CHz, and comparing them is pointless since they are going for different things with their sound
>>
>>66005716
>Lack of Song structure
What? Are you saying that there is no song structure because of The improvised nature of Tago Mago? Thats very dumb my dude, specially when Halleluwah exists. Besides most songs in HCTI have a clear song structure (see: Hey Light)
>Lo fi production
Nigga have you ever listened to a lo fi album? Because both Tago Mago and HCTI are very well produced
>Anxtious atmosphere
Only true for Amugn
>Long winded sound collage passages
I can give you that, but barely.
>Tribal influences
Tago Magos influences go way beyond just tribal. There is more of a an Eastern influences than a tribal one, i guess you say that Because of Amugn.
In The end there te similarities but they are still very different albums
>>
>>66005950
I've heard Summertime clothes and Floridada on the radio
>>
>>66006004
>he's never heard HCTI
>>
Which of their albums is their "in the court of crimson king", and do they have their "loveless" or at least their "heroes"?
>>
>>66006084
ItCoCK = Spirit They've Gone
Loveless = Strawberry Jam
Heroes = Feels
>>
>>66006172 = underaged

Nice argument
In order for an album to be a Tago Mago you need the following features
>Amalgamation of genres and styles, with the resultados being a very refined combination of sounds
>Clear sign of mastery in all the instruments played
>A definitive progression compared to their previous albums, with a more focused direction and much more mature sound
>Influences from Traditional music from all around the world
>Clear distinction between first half and second half
>Respect from both fans and critics
All this said, it's very obvious that Pic related is their Tago Mago. And don't get me wrong, i like HCTI more, and STGSTV is my favorite, but this is the correct answer
>>

You know what, i will even listen to those albums because you said it like that
>>

right on the money.

No one above legal age listens to ac unironically
>>
>>66007425
What makes you think that
>>
>>66005377
MPP is objectively their best release but HCTI is by far my favorite from them
>>
heeeeeeeeeeeeyyyyyy llllliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigghht

>MPP is objectively their best release
no
>>
>>66005520
That makes no God damn sense.
>>
>>66006294
I would probably say that Sung Tongs is where they really became focused.
>>
>>66007425
This is how I can tell you aren't out of high school yet.
>>
>>66007777
Digits confirm
>>
>>66007699
It really is. Doesn't mean it is my favorite, but the tracks have the most variety, and it easily has some of the top all time tracks for AnCo. Hell the EP that came from it is probably the best EP too.
>>
>>66005843
put hollindagain and spirit above hcti and campfire songs and you have my top 4.
>>
>>66007574
>*clap*
>>
>>66007828
I don't know, I'm really gonna have to disagree with you on this. Don't get me wrong, I like MPP, but I think the anxious textures of HCTI are a lot more interesting. HCTI seems like it was perfectly crafted in a way, with the vocoders and drums and everything really.

And Campfire Songs is their most consistant album, imo, especially with it technically being one song

And Prospect Hummer is the best ep imo

>>66007873
nice taste in AnCo
>>
>>66007873
very nice
mine would be Sung Tongs > Hollinndagain > HCtI > Spirit

I feel like the singular song aspect of Campfire Songs kind of detracts from it though.

If that one style isn't for you then well the whole album isn't.

I feel the same with Here Comes the Indian. I do believe that they mastered the sort of tribal sound they had early on in this album. However it seems very singular.

I feel like MPP has a definite sound to it, but still each song sounds pretty unique. Compare something like Bluish and Daily Routine and you can kind of see how they branch out more.
>>
>>66005377
Because like Tago Mago, the ideas on it are nowhere near as experimental as they sound. Just like how Future Days is far more experimental and brought far more new ideas than Tago Mago, SJ->MPP did for AnCo compared to HCTI, but people with muh inaccessibility boners think far more shallow about this.

Yeah right, and I like SJ and MPP

Nice quads though
