These two are the logical ways of advancing Swans' sound. I think another one is more interesting talent with the instrumentation. He could possibly get more electronic instruments in if possible like from Soundtracks for the Blind. Or he could go full on Glenn Branca with tons of electronic waves/layers of distortion and guitars.

Yes, but remember Yrp 2? That song specifically sounded like something from Bladerunner and then out of nowhere Jarboe starts screaming like in pain. Or even the eerie Secret Friends. That stuff is unsettling. Like Gira can improve on that electronic instrumentation by infusing it with the music instead of it transitioning to his more distorted guitar waves. It's one area where SFTB could be better at. Having smoother transitions to the more hard hitting and meditative guitar distortion.
