I really don't get this jeopardy thing. I'm not american so I've never seen it but the point is that you get the answer and you have to guess what the question is, right? But then all presented "answers" are actually just questions and the question you have to guess is "what is [answer to the question]?". That's real fucking pointless.

Yes, but answering in the form of a question is more of a reflex/formality at this point. Maybe it was more important in the first few runs of the program, when quiz shows saturated the game show market.
