you can find some advice in archived funk threads : https://archive.rebeccablacktech.com/mu/thread/S65701389

not OP but thanks
I listen to more g funk but i do look up the samples they use sometimes. A lot of it is semi long form jamming music. Just put it on when you're in the mood. The most famous bands have a lot of material so you won't run out. just start with some parliemnt, isley brothers, ohio players etc

and

also start looking for Band that released their LP's on Stax Records
Maybe also the Mo-Town stuff but it's mainly what white americans wanted funk to be

but I do, friend
ABBA, Bee Gees, Saturday Night Fever, the list could just go on and on forever

Slayd5000 youtube channel and channels like it. Don't listen to albums just because you're used to rock.

it's true that the LP format isn't the most adapted to funk, but there still were albums whith no weak track
I do agree with you though, nothing beats digginh the shit out of dirty ass crates and ending up like pic related

start with this
>>65862810
Why not both?
Step 1 is Funkadelic. All the other steps are also Funkadelic.
>>65864420
now that's what I call carefully exploring a genre
fuck this bandwagonning loser James Brown he wouldn't have achieved anyhting without Funkadelic anyway
