I think if an album still holds up long after its genre lost popularity, then it should be considered a classic.
I'm not fully convinced Hybrid Theory fits that, but I'd argue that Meteora does.

I don't know. hybrid theory was kind of at their peak. it could definitely be considered a classic album by them, but the rock\rap style is starting to come back with bands like from ashes to new, so I don't really think it could be considered an actual classic.
